You mean Pittsburgh Penguins vs Refs
At least we did get a point from this game
Sure wish we would've gotten 2 points.
Harkins messed up a great chance for a goal that I think other players would have handled better (Carter included) so I'm not too high on him right now.
Ludvig, Guentzel and Rust?! That's an energy line with a scoring thrust!
Ludwig definitely threw more punches and landed more. He won . The guy wanted to wrestle because he was tired of getting punched in the face 😂! Terrible no call at the end of the game! That was a tough pill to swallow last night!
Really enjoying these recaps Nick!! Glad to see shea and ludvig doing a good job on the third pair. Man ludvig is fun to watch and something this team has lacked for too long. Maybe he can teach the team how hit and play with some grit. DOC looked fine with malkin but he makes that 3rd line really good. I wouldn't even mind vinny on the 2rw for speed and defensive conscious. Harkins and Carter can fight it out for 4rw or throw nylander in there for more experience and added offense.
PP is now at 12.1%. League average is around 20-21%. This means the Pens are leaving goals AND wins on the ice.
Since the San Jose game, the offense is averaging 2.9 GPG. Sounds impressive, but is below the league average.
Pens opponents are some of the least penalized in the league, meaning the Pens are easy to play against.
Right now the Pens have 21 points in 21 games. Excluding Covid years, from 2017-2018 to 2022-2023, a team in the East needs 95 (low end) points to make the playoffs. This means the Pens team will need AT A MINIMUM 74 points in the next 61 games. That is 37 Reg + OT + SOW. A winning percentage of 60.6%. Again – MINIMUM.
Time is rapidly running out on making a decision regarding the PP and HC.
Harkins seems to be only good for a game or two when called up. And only when you need some extra physicality. Once his nerves settle he relaxes and plays like garbage.
Id have given that second star to Ryan Shea. I thought he had an incredible game.
Refs are hurting the Pens . I would like to see EK .charge the other teams blue line like he has always done, this drop pass is just not working, Pens could use another heavy hitter standing up people at the blue line .
Our PP is really starting to be a major problem, it has probably cost us up to 10 points so far, it needs to fixed, now
