I would've liked to trade AB at last years trade deadline, but I'm sure Allvin tried to make something happen. Fast forward to the quarter mark, and the nucks got a 5th for a player who is overpaid for the production he's put up so far. There is no cap retention and an early 5th round pick. That's a win, baby. Chicago adds some depth, and who knows if Beauviller goes on a heater when he gets there. On that team, he's a top 6 player and will probably see some top pp time, so I'm sure ABs is happy to get traded. It's definitely a win-win trade.

When you talked about Montgomery's comments on the Bruins, I thought it applied to the Canucks too. Teams seem to be winning the opening face-off against Vancouver and then spending the first couple of shifts in the Canucks end. Not good. And then there was that brutal 2nd period where the Ducks spent about 20 minutes in the Canucks end. I think the lower level of play for the previous 6 games or so was due mostly to having to play so many games in so few days, with travel, the loss of Soucy and Suter, plus some "regression to the mean". However, the Canucks played a great 3rd period – exactly the way they have to play to win consistently, so that's the good news. The bad news is that Myers played 23 minutes. If he plays 23 minutes against Vegas, the odds are really stacked in Vegas' favor.

Beauvillier gets more ice time, the Canucks get some cap space to continue fixing their blueline, and Chicago gets to distract fans with a trade. The problem with Chicago keeping things quiet about Perry is that even if they're somehow miraculously doing it for the right reason, to protect innocent victim(s), the Blackhawks have done nothing to show that they're a franchise that can be trusted to do the right thing. Given that this is a contract termination, I would assume that either someone from the NHLPA and/or NHL head office would have to be brought into the loop at that point to sign off on it.

me: watching this at 1AM in Finland eyes barely open
Couldn't get my picks online yesterday, so I will ignore those ten games.
Overall: 170-125-31 (ignoring the ten from yesterday)
Picks: MTL, NYR, LAK
If the Oilers hadn't gotten things together the way they have done now, I could totally have seen them reach out to Perry with an offer.
Here we go! CBJ NYR and the LAK (Reverse Jinx for the CAPS) are your winners tonight !
195-141 overall. MTL, DET, LAK
Absolutely the Oilers will get into the playoffs. They might only finish 8th or maybe 7th, but don't sleep on them come playoff time. Adversity makes teams better.

Good luck and I guess have a good evening all. 😂❤
being that nobody has any knowledge of what happened with perry, you can't confirm that certain rumours are false.
All these people so concerned with what went down in Chicago must not have anything better to do with their time.
The rumors came out of nowhere, and I find it unfair for Bedard. It just isnt something he should have to deal with. It may seem funny to some but honestly its disgusting, and very unnecessary.
