**Zellweger**. Yes, he’s a bright spot but for his amazing talent, not his Gulls performance. He’s got some points, yes, but his defense makes me think he’ll need at least one summer to reflect and magically turn things around. His gap play isn’t tight enough. His board battles aren’t bad because he loses, but because he almost never engages. His breakouts seem to fail over half the times.
**Gaucher**. I’ve watched and watched, but I can’t find anything special about his game, neither on the offensive or defensive side. Has anyone seen something special? **Pastujov** too.
**Luneau**. IMHO, he’s NHL-ready. Every game he plays, he’s nearly mistake-free (maybe 1 breakout turnover per game). I think the author gives him a mediocre rating because he’s not flashy like Zellweger and Mintyukov. Luneau (and LaCombe) are Fowler-types. Their skating skills can make things look so easy and effortless that they don’t catch a fan’s attention or respect. When Drysdale, Mintyukov, and Zellweger do equivalent moves, they *labor* – legs and arms flailing wildly. There’s no right or wrong here. Just calling out that elegant defensemen get overlooked.

I’d be genuinely surprised if Zellweger is brought up without a lot of injuries/illnesses. I’d imagine they let him grow in SD for the season more often than not.
