[O’Connor] Torts acknowledged today part of the reason why he’s pushing the team to play a more aggressive style this year in terms of creating offense is in anticipation for a few years down the road, when Michkov & a few more high-end scorers are here. Had a good quote, too. Incoming.

I really hope we keeps Torts until we’re ready to contend.
Michkov is especially good in the areas where we need it right now. He can pass through layers on the level of guys like Giroux and Voracek, he can play just about anywhere in the 1-3-1, and hes good around the net. He’s only scored a few of his goals from distance and only has 3 on the PP but the way he can find guys through seams is something this team needs badly. Cutter on his offhand or in the bumper getting passes from Michkov will be fuckin gnarly as hell.
And even with pretty much the same roster, this aggressive style is creating more wins. Shocking.
