  1. Garland was more of a keeper than Beauvillier because if Conor isn't racking up points, he's still an effective, gritty player. He can play 3rd line minutes. If Beauvillier isn't scoring and he's not in the top 6, he's remarkably ineffective. In Vancouver, there are just better options up front in the top 6, and they needed the cap space. Pre-cap, they might have gotten a sucker to give them a d-man for him. In 2023, they got the best deal they could – a lottery ticket and cap space.

  2. garland, hoglander and joshua have been a very useful line since they were put together. beavillier has similar point production as perry but he is streaky.
