  1. Kraken and shootouts go together like vinegar and water

    🙁

    1 pt is 1pt….I don’t event care…

We’re opening the restaurant for a small holiday special

#LOOKS LIKE .893 IS BACK ON THE MENU BOYS AND GIRLS!!!!

  2. alienbanter

Proud of the comeback. I really just have to hope that this can be the start of the return of the 100%-effort-all-the-time Kraken we knew and loved last season!

  3. GabeNewbie

I am once again here to point out that the mods still aren’t pinning the PGTs.

    Also shootouts are dumb.

  4. Mrdean2013

The record for OT losses in a single season in the NHL is 18. I feel like this team might get close to that lol

  5. At least we got something for the effort this time. Enjoy the rest of your evening everyone!

Seattle Sports Luck: *sees another Kraken game going into a shootout*
“They got their shootout win earlier this season, we can just ignore them & make sure the Seahawks gain the lead at the end of the half.”

  7. hanzmelman

We didn’t win, but incredible effort!

Give Buoy a jug of Carlo Rossi and a boombox bumping red, red wine!

  8. beardyman22

Honestly that was a great game. Team pulled it together and came back. Some big saves by Gru and big late goals. They looked really good particularly at the end and in OT. Just ran into a hot goalie, nothing to do about that.

  9. LauzonIsHotGarbage

What a weird team this year. We look different every period. Happy with the comeback though and some great looks in ot

  10. juanthebaker

I feel good taking an important point out of that game.

They did what they needed to do win that game, just came up a bit short against a really good Toronto team.

This is an effort to build on.

  11. Managing to scrape together points and keep the season from getting out of hand, but we really have to figure out how to play consistently between games.

  12. ScarySuggestions

I’ll take the point and hope for better starts in the future. Proud of the boys for pushing it to OT/Shootout territory.

  13. I hate shoot outs. Just gimme 10 minutes of 3 on 3, then hand out a point each if it’s not over yet. Nobody likes them Gary.

  14. A_crackinthecup

Skill might be lacking, but if they show up like this consistently, it’ll be an okay season for me.

  15. First-Radish727

I don’t really care about losing in the skills competition. To fall 3-1 and come back to get a point against a good team on their home ice is awesome.

  16. This team probably isn’t going to win the cup this year, so ironically these OTL loser points are actually hurting us by making our draft position worse lol.

  17. If we had Turbo and Burky there’s no way we wouldn’t have won that

  18. eviltoothbrush

We are going to OT points ourselves into a WC spot. Just watch 😄

  19. NorEastahBunny

Canner a star of the game and rightfully so! Gru also deserved one. I’m fired up after that third period. Like I said in the game thread…not a lot of complaints. A win would, of course, be ideal but if we can keep playing like that (especially against good teams with multiple elite players) then I’m more than happy.

  20. BigHunt_02

It’s hard to get a read on this team from game to game. One minute they look like world beaters then the next they look like AHL fodder.

  21. I only was able to catch the 3rd period but great effort. Gru was on fire, McCann, Ebs, and Tolvy all had great chances and there was hustle out there from the boys. Love to see it.

Also I nominate Red Wine Guy as Buoy’s understudy! Kraken Social Media team please make this happen!

  22. EwoksEwoksEwoks

We’re going for the all time record in OTL

  23. Go_Hawks12

Despite the loss, seems like I missed a solid game

  24. MartialSpark

That was a good ass game and I ain’t even mad. Maybe I’m weird, but I don’t care so much if we actually win. I just want to watch competitive, entertaining games every night, and this one was a banger.

Solid outing for Grubauer! On the season Moneypuck had us basically generating equal shot quality to our opponents on average, but goaltending setting us back about half a goal per game. Grubauer fell juuuuuust short of a quality start tonight, was about -0.05, but that’s close enough IMO.

Out front we just narrowly edged out the shot quality battle, 3.2 to 2.9 or so by the end of regulation. Toronto is almost certainly a playoff team, so that’s not bad!

I said in a comment prior to the game that if we were going to find success, it would have to look like the goaltending getting back to the 0 saves above expected range, and a minor uptick in production from the skaters. Tonight we got exactly that, and in theory I think this is at least sustainable.

  25. adrianp07

is there a record for number of 4-3 games in a season? I feel like we’re getting up there

  26. FreezingRain358

Good game, a lot more hustle. Just makes me miss Turbo.

  27. Menanonymalaus

Not bad Kraken. But going forward, let’s try to not get into shoot outs with the Leafs. We’ll tend to lose those.

  28. CornDoodler

Just 12 more OT losses to tie the record! Let’s go boys!

  29. seataccrunch

GMRF let’s prioritize a few guys who have sick hands and can function in shootouts

We’ve left alot of points on the table

  30. futuregoalie

This game was great! I love that we didn’t quit and fought hard to come back. I’m proud of everyone. I’m proud of Gru, I’m happy with how everything went. But I have a soft spot for Woll so I’m not bummed that we lost. He crushed it and deserves this. It was a well fought game and we got a point and I had a good time. I’m starting to miss Joey a little so hopefully we’ll see him on Saturday though we’re in good hands either way. (I miss these guys too easily 😂)
