In 2022, @JokeritHelsinki1967 withdrew from the KHL.
To return to the ice in Finland, Jokerit turned to alumni Esa Lindell, Teuvo Teräväinen and Ossi Väänänen to become a fully Finnish-funded organization.
Wouldn't surprise me one bit if somewhere down the road we will be seeing the formation a new European Based Hockey Super League. They could follow the model of the EPL or La Lisa or even Champions League in forming a new league.

Good reminder that you can't separate sports and politics

Love Esa! 💚⭐️🏒
I always thought it was weird there was a Finland based team in the KHL. Especially considering the 2 nations are traditional enemies.
Cried tears of happiness when they brought the team back to Helsinki, Finland – Home.
Been a fan for four decades, just like my father and his father before him.
Jokerit will always be our team.
