Adding Wheeler to their bottom six would likely give them a boost if they end up surprising the league and making the playoffs
Article pushing the idea that Wheeler would be a good fit with the coyotes. Can’t see this happening what with the whole refusal to sign back in the day.

Blake Wheeler burned us once, I’ll be damned if he burns us again. No thank you
Fuck Blake Wheeler
It’ll be a cold day in hell Blake Wheeler will be on this team
It would be funny if he retires as a coyote
Fuck Blake Wheeler
Wtf would they want Wheeler? Leaving the history aside, what does he bring that the team needs?
Booooooooooo
Isn’t Chicago the exact type of team that could use him with Hall out for the season and well Perry being Perry
That’s going to be a “no” from me, dawg.
Even outside of Wheeler’s shitty history with the Yotes (refusing to sign and totally burning us), it wouldn’t fit the plan. We have better “veteran presence” on the team already with dudes like Dumba and Zucker. More than that, Wheeler wouldn’t fit the long-term plan. He’s only got a $800k cap hit, so he’s not really a “cap dump” situation for NYR, meaning they’d likely feel like they’re the ones with the leverage and will want some value in return for him – likely picks/prospects. I don’t think any picks or prospects, outside of a late-round pick, would be worth taking him on and giving him a roster spot.
We’re not likely to do much in the post-season, even in the off chance we make it in. Wheeler doesn’t move that needle, he’d just be another body in the bottom-six, so I feel like this is a non-starter.
Also, fuck Wheeler.
