Akira was a wall last night, and I can't even blame him for that 2nd goal. If there's any game to experiment with back-to-back starts, I think it's with the trailing game being at home against the 2023 San Jose Sharks. I think it would be disrespectful if Akira doesn't start tonight as long as he's well and good to.
The net is now Akira’s to lose, but I suspect Vanecek will start against San Jose tonight anyway. Coaches simply don’t play goalies back-to-back these days, plus San Jose stinks so I’m sure they’re comfortable rolling out Vitek.
