What are Canadiens’ biggest concerns moving forward? | HI/O Bonus

  1. My biggest concern is injuries.. no wait, make that taking too many penalties… no wait, make that not being able to get the puck out of their zone.. no wait, make that allowing goals that should have been saved.

  2. My biggest concern (and question) is the quality of the prospects in Laval. We gush over the quality, but really? To me there's a disconnect between the discourse around them and their actual results. How come Laval is so low in the standings if our prospect pool is supposed to be that good? Something that I feel is a bit overlooked and rarely addressed.

  3. Lack of offense, can’t control injuries, got 1 billion prospect defensemen and 3 healthy goalers doing their job in rotation, but not good enough to steal games on the level Price, Halak. Huet, Theodore could.

Currently if the D’s/G’s allow 1 bad goal or 2 the games are mostly over, nearly half our offense in the last 10 games comes from our defensemen and that’s unsustainable.

Newhook, Dach, RHP are injured that’s a whole line gone, time to inject new blood from Laval or the other teams, no way in hell this team goes anywhere with only Suzuki and Caufield in offense.

  4. 1.Get the Cap under control.
    2.Draft and develop well.
3.Hopefully in this process find a #1 center, another sniper or two, a power play quarterback, a stud #1 one defensemen and a first string goalie.
Right now it looks like we might have one of these coming along.

  5. Ive been saying so many years, habs has no number 1 center, none of them are elite forwards. Hughes wasted 1st draft I agreed.

  6. As Stu says, goal scorers are hard to find. They're even harder to find when you aren't even looking for them.

  7. Yeah the management group made a glaring mistake drafting a defenseman in the first round and not a potential elite forward in the last offeseason past no doubt.

If Logan Maillioux and Lane Hudson is what some ppl including myself think they are especially Mailloux then why would they need to draft this defenseman name Reinbacker.

  8. Time to get over taking the big mobile RHD, Stu — that is also a rarity. A few weeks ago the chatter was they missed Logan Cooley because he scored one hilight goal. Michkov isn't a PPG in the KHL, a league now considered lesser than the AHL talent wise but has less points than Jordan Weal.
They need to do what Vegas did by packaging some good prospects for someone like Eichel.

  9. I agree with Stu we lack elite offensive talent and needed to draft the best offensive player available at draft instead of another defender

  10. The biggest concern is to get rid of all these negative pundits who are trying to drag the team down to their level. This site claims it is inside out, but it is actually upside down. Kent Hughes is a lawyer who is smarter than all of you put together. The team he has assembled will make the playoffs this year.
