He’s a true leader, and I’m so thankful he’s our captain. He had the shoes of Zetterberg, Lidstrom and Yzerman to fill and while unfortunate this event is, it shows how strong he is as a leader to continue. I wish nothing but the best for the Larkin family.
I hope hockey can be a good escape for him for a few hours. While I’ve never experienced the kind of emotional pain he has gone through twice now, I know that for me it’s nice to have something to focus on for a bit instead of thinking about the pain.
If shit started going south before the actual incident that would certainly explain why he’s looked pretty miserable in the few games leading up to his absence. I just feel awful for the poor guy. Having to go through it once is bad enough then for it to happen again is even worse. I hope the two of them keep their spirits up as much as possible. I just can’t imagine the shit they’re going through especially so close to the Christmas/holiday season.
I couldn’t imagine having all of that wealth and amazing health care and going through what he went through.
That would make sense. This goal against Minnesota stood out to me at the time, he looked like something pretty emotional was getting to him.

It was also good to see the extra support from Raymond and Ghost there. I think the team knew and were with him.
If Dilly Daddy retires without lifting the cup for the Red Wings I’m gonna be *pissed*.
