I was just about to post this on the day after thread. I don’t usually have my eyes glued to #2 during the game, so what was he doing that was so impactful?

He was on the ice for two goals, but had no assists… was he generating opportunities?

  2. He’s been playing really well despite what the entire fan base says. Also he has a charity event coming up right? He’s been playing well to cater to the fans for the event hahaha. That fight gave him some brownie points too

  3. As much as people don’t want to accept it. Smith is a lock on this roster, he plays too many roles. (PKer, can play forward, fighter/enforcer/hitter, locker room guy)

  4. He’s lucky he didnt catch a major for the slash last night. Almost cost us the game.

The title is missing that this is just impacts on Konecny

Smith is actually playing well, just still taking penalties. However, I will say the fight in the Islanders game was worth it

I guess this doesn’t factor in beating a bonehead and almost throwing the game.

Lol, without Brendan Smith that game end in a regulation win.

  8. Brendan Smith skating forward == Wayne Gretzky

Brendan Smith skating backward == hand grenade

hes lucky that penalty didn’t cost us the game last night. Im all for a love tap but when you go at a guy that hard its going to give them a power play 100 times out of 100.

He had a good game last night. That’s a really tiny sample size and he’s been dog water for the majority of the season. He’s brutal offensively, bad defensively 5v5, and one of the most penalized players in the league. He’s a good penalty killer, but that’s not enough to warrant playing him especially on defense where he kills the team.
