I do not think the hit was a penalty; Hathaway hits Luke from the side/in front. Was it icing? Apparently the linesman didnât think so or he forgot? The penalty and game misconduct seems ridiculous!

Is no one seeing the push from behind Hathaway got from Siegenthaler? To me it seems like even though all of this could have been avoided if the refs had done their job, that push is really what led to the hit being as hard as it was. It totally changed Hathawayâs momentum

Refs donât understand icing anymore. Theyâll let players hold up and not skate after the puck, just to get an icing.
Theyâll also do dumb shit like this.
Icing should be called when the puck, not the player, reaches the hash mark. Refs/linesmen clearly canât make judgment calls anymore, so take the guess work out.

Im so glad none of the Hughes brothers play on one of my hated teams. Although as an Avs fan, this battle for the Norris adds a little bit of sumthin whenever we face the Canucks.
Jack is probably my favorite non-Colorado player to watch. As great of a start hes had this season, i still feel like hes a little bit underrated. Like fans around the League still doubt that this guy could become a top 3 player in the NHL.
I can only imagine if Colorado had won the lottery in 2019 with that Ottawa pick…

hathaway played to the whistle, jack hughes also has every right to be mad. Linesman need to take full accountability and league needs to be stricter on these things. No whistle, no shout, no nothing to give an indication as to whether it was icing or not.
