  1. Tampa has lost too many important players over the last 3-4 years. They are not as deep as they were during their cup years. Having a disastrous road trip out west might be an indication that the glory years are fading. Five of their next seven are on the road. Maybe Vasilevskiy returned too early. No team stays on top forever.

  2. Think we might be looking at the end of the Stamkos era. I wouldn't be surprised if he's traded at the deadline if Tampa's playoff hopes are unrealistic. The blueline needs a retool. JBB is looking good not resigning Stamkos right away. Stamkos will need to take a pay cut if he wants to ride out the rest of his career in Tampa and still be competitive.

  3. It seems like the recent thumping the Bolts put on the Canes was just a blip, maybe boosted by Vasilevskiy's first game back. And Carolina's inability to stay out of the penalty box. This season's Lightning team does not resemble the dominating ones from the past few years.

  4. I know it’s not mostly Vasy’s fault, but originally they said he would return in December, then all of a sudden they push him back in November. Kinda wish they would have just let him practice and train long enough to make a strong return.

  5. As a Tampa fan to say Vasy isn’t 100% it’s a possibility don’t get me wrong. I haven’t seen anything in his game that would tell me that though. Watching all these goals tonight you have a bat out of mid air on the first goal. Second goal I’m sure he’d wanna have back for not hugging his post fully. Third goal is a breakaway. 4th goal gets deflected of our defence goes from to his chest to top corner. 5th goal pavelski tips it while falling down goes from going to his chest to going five hole. 6th goal hits off his right post to a one-tee off the post on his left. The amount of goals tonight he had absolutely no chance on was insane. Tampa need to play a cleaner game, way to many turnovers, quit playing east-west need more North-south.

  6. I was really down on the Stars after those Calgary losses. But this was a pleasant surprise. Tampa aunt what they once were but 8-1 drubbing. Be nice to use this to start a winning streak. Wonder how the next game will go.

  7. Not a single Lightning player currently has a positive plus/minus stat. I know it's flawed and doesn't tell the whole story about how guys may be playing, but that's still surprising.

  8. I think vasy is healthy but just not in perfect game condition, missign summer workout and training camp and recovering from major surgery must have effect on the play for sure

  9. Vasy didn't look set for any of these shots. He was either having a very hard time tracking the puck or did not get the front net presence he needed from his team.
