  1. >… multiple sources familiar with the process told PHNX that the team is zeroing in on a parcel of land in northeast Phoenix, adjacent to Scottsdale.

The only empty land along the Scottsdale-Phoenix border is up by the Mayo Clinic off the 101 and 64th Street or 101/Scottsdale Road.

The land north of the 101 between Scottsdale Rd and 56th St is all owned by the Arizona State Land Department; they also own the land under the Scottsdale 101 shopping center on the southwest corner of the 101 and Scottsdale Rd. The land south of the 101 along Mayo Road is all owned by the Mayo Clinic.

If it’s good for the team, sure, but I won’t be going to many games then. That’s farther than Glendale for me.

Seems like the Mesa/East valley stuff has gone out the window. Surprises me a bit since they said that’s where a large portion of the fan base is. But I guess if management get somewhere that will give the green light then the deal is own

I would honestly be very disappointed if they build at the 101/51 freeway area. One of the main reasons Glendale never could work was that it was not centrally located. This location would be 40+ minutes from the Gilbert/Chandler/east mesa areas which is where a ton of wealth and growth in Arizona is located. Bordering Scottsdale and Phoenix way up north seems like a mistake.
