  1. As a Red Wing fan, as long as the Wings prospect is progressing positively. I don't worry too much about Canucks prospects. Defensemen take time to develop. Wait and see. A non argument.

  2. will ASP be as good as hronek? if so, when? with teenage hockey players, time will tell how their talent translates to the nhl. both exciting prospects.

  3. Pellikka is playing against grown me and doing things nearly unprecedented for a player his age in that league and Brzustewicz is playing in the OHL . . .

  4. Meh.. saying because Bruzstewicz has double production in the OHL so he is a comparable as ASP producing as an 18 years old at 0.55 p/game against grown men in one of the best league in the world is just Really nuts ASP has way better potential than Hronek he would be closer to Hughes than Hronek in term of upside while Bruzstewicz would be top 4 at best if he even cracks the NHL full time oh for sure could be a real steal in the 3rd but definitly not on ASP table lmao

  5. We got Willander in the 1st round too, so Hunter is just the cherry on top. Who did you get in the 3rd round? Not much talk about him, eh?

  6. Judd Brackett may be gone, but some of our old scouts stuck around and I can imagine they've been responsible for a lot of the better draft selections we've made.

  7. why is this even a comparison? You're comparing juniors to the top mens league league in sweden and arguably the 3rd or 4th best league in the world. SHL most point ever in a season is 76, CHL most points ever is 282 because defense doesn't exist and the gap between the best players and everyone else is so massive. So they are somehow cmparable when a CHL defenseman can give the puck to their best forard in their own zone all day and get assists while ASP actually has goals? This is a massive stretch Lego…

  8. I don't get why we compare two different players from two different leagues. I get comparing when making your draft board, but after they are drafted I don't see the point. Hunter is having a great season, let's see how he does does at the next level. The same applies to Pellikka.

  9. Some people are projecting ASP as the next coming of Erik Karlsson. That alone should be enough said. Also racking up a ton of points in the OHL against kids doesnt mean much. You can still be a bust when trying to playing against men.
Habits are the most important part. Playing in the ohl, you can develop bad habits that only work at that level.

  10. I hate to break it to a Canuckle'heads fan, but Vancouver also selected Celebrini in the 7th round, from the same draft year. A right shooting defenceman, 19 yrs old, who has 4 points in 12 games with Boston U. I'll remind you, that older brother Brzustewicz is smaller then Henry, he's a younger player, at 16, he's already got 2 points in 22 games with London, and is bigger then big brother. Next, why did Brzustewicz get noticed by Vancouver? and I look at his draft year production results, then I look at the other members of his draft year tea, in Kitchener, which helped him get noticed….. He had 6 goals 51 assists in 58 games, so who had 51 goals?

  11. Please tell me you're not actually comparing a late pick in the OHL to a 1st rounder in the SHL. Please? ASP has 8 goals in 23 games in the hardest league in Sweden. He's tied for 16th in goals in the entire league…including forwards! The next dman in goals in the SHL is 43rd. Brzustewicz is tied for 118th in goals in the freaking OHL. You have to be kidding with this fake drama crap.

Edit: How about we instead discuss the deployment of 11th OA draft pick and right dman Tom Willander. Oh sorry, did I say right defense? I meant forward at Boston college. You didn't actually want a right handed dman did you Vancouver?

  12. Wings fans are passionate yes, but we're also forgiving. i once said we'll remember the kindness your channel has shown us! besides, i got nothing but respect for what the Nucks are doing right now and if that includes a gem deep in the draft then good on them.

  13. My thoughts is, there are always hidden gems in the later rounds. Being a wings fan just think of Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Lidstrom, Holmstrom, etc. It's a credit to Vancouver 's scouting staff.

  14. How talented are the players either Hunter or Axel are playing with and against? In Hunters case, is he already a grown man playing in a boys league? Best of luck to both the Red Wings and Canucks this season.

  15. As a Wings fan, I’m okay with this. They saw an opportunity and made the trade for what they wanted. I’m more upset the Wings didn’t experience that production with Hronek to be honest. I don’t dislike Vancouver, so I’m happy for them. All around? This is good for both.

  16. To everyone who complained about Vancouver trading away their first for Hronek, it might as well have been a third that they traded away because the third round pick in Brzustewicz is playing better than most first round picks in the draft!
