  1. Tavares is an overpaid 11M a year who put himself at risk making the wrong play as Chiarot was already on him, he had to dump the puck along the board instead of shuffling and passing the puck towards the center of the ice. He lost a fraction of second which he needed to protect himself from Chiarot's hard but legal hit.

  2. after FOLIGNO'S fight with perry changed the momentum to the leafs favor…wtg NICK…WELCOME TO THE LEAFS

  3. To be honest, I think both teams probably needed something to break the tension. This wasn't a vengeance fight, where Perry has to serve the sentence for a crime he didn't commit. It was a temperature check by a veteran who knows more about in-game dynamics than any 2 bit enforcer, referee or league official.

  4. Why not go after the guy who hit the captain instead of the one that accidentally runs into him?

  5. I'm cheering for Toronto in this series, but when it comes to stuff like this, it's about doing the right thing. Foligno picking a fight with Perry when both teams and all commentators and everyone watching on TV knew for a fact it was an accident…Instigating the fight was in bad taste and classless and makes pro hockey look bad. Like one commentator said, what's next – a player shoots a puck and it hits a player and injures him, and the shooter needs to be beaten up for it? Gimme a break. Perry was blatantly remorseful and went over and gave Tavares a tap while he was being taken off the ice. Then Foligno needs to fight Perry, even after Perry told him it was an accident and made it clear he didn't want the fight. Bottom line: "The Code" doesn't apply for injuries that are clearly accidental.

  6. I'm all for fighting in the NHL, but the fight seemed quite unnecessary. It was obviously no fault of Perry's.

  7. The fight, if anything was with the wrong Hab player. The Hab defense man that hit Taveres did so intentionally and connected with the knee, injuring John before the knee on face hit.

  8. <3 hockey.
Everyone world wide be safe in this on going Pandemic Virus Crisis.
Rip for those that deceased from Pandemic Virus World Wide.

  9. FFS, this wasn't even a case of one guy hitting another guy. It was a case of two guys colliding. What Foligno did was embarrassing.

  10. I mean that's hockey you see a star get hurt and the guy who did it and you go after him. Welcome to The Show

  11. I am a Toronto fan and I felt the fight was totally wrong. It was very clear that Perry didn't intent to hit Tavares. In fact, I thought that Perry and the Montreal Canadien organization showed a lot of Class.

  12. Perry didn't throw a single punch. Foligno meanwhile keeps talking about his l
    'leadership,leadership,leadership'

  13. No one (maybe Joe but that’s a big maybe) was going to fight Perry after the incident. That was Nicks first year and wasn’t having the year people expected, he did what he could to try and stick around.
Imagine he slips and hurts himself in the process? Now there’s another one laying on the ice.
