I like that Rick knows analytics and the eye test should go hand in hand, I feel like too many people only look at the numbers.

    Also talks about Kuzmenko:

    – has liked him better the last couple games
    – wants to see more net drive from him and be around the net more
    – change of scenery (playing with Miller) could be good for him
    – got to be more conscientious in his own in end
    – not asking him to be a Selke winner or make him into a defensive forwards (that’s not Tocc goal) but the team needs to be able to rely on him to be in certain positions.
    – when you’re in your own zone you got to know where to be at certain times. There have been goals that he wasn’t in spots (defensive positioning) he’s supposed to be.
    – when you’re not scoring, you gotta be in your spots. When you’re scoring, you can overlook some of your spots (leeway defensive given when you’re producing offensively). When you’re not scoring it’s the little things that matter.

Anyone notice how he said in response to the kuzmenko question, “a change in scenery might help him”. I was iffy about it before but now I think I see that tocc isn’t a fan of kuzy

Hoggy’s next summer play, learn to kill the penalties.
