  1. What was the most important wasn’t the empty net goal of Anderson, but the reaction of his teammates, everyone was there for him, even earlier in the game Monahan cheering him up, pointing him immediately after the goal that’s what’s important to cultivate this year team spirit, l’esprit de corps.

  2. Monty deserves to get more starts. The whole team deserves to have Monty start more. Something has to be done soon.

  3. all the best teams have a great goalie, its not how many saves its the saves at big moments, monty has that, maybe he will be an amazing 1B for us in the future to fowler haha… or maybe hes the guy, i have and have always had full cofidence in SNACKS

  4. Finally the lines I would put together please don’t change anything even if we have a bad game or two. Also Monty needs way more starts he gives a chance to win every game. Slaf created a lot of space for our two stars.

  5. Love the win, love Monty's play, but Monahan and Pearson carrying the team offensively is not something to cheer about…at least not in terms of the 'rebuild'. Neither of those guys are part of this team in whatever 'winning window' we might actually have. Would have been much more encouraging to see Caufield with a pair and Slaf with one.

  6. For the first time in ages, I wasn't on the edge of my seat worrying that the opposition would tie the game. Just felt…with Monty in, and the way we were playijg…we had this.

  7. I find it hilarious that Anderson’s last goal before this one was also an empty net against the penguins and now he got his first this season with an empty net, Apparently goalies are to hard for Josh Anderson….

  8. You guys forgot to mention that the power play goal wouldn’t have been scored if it wasn’t for Slaf… He went down low to the boards and won the puck battle and if he lost that battle the puck would have been cleared but he did win it and seconds after that the bang bang play was made and the goal was scored Slaf didn’t get an assist but he was the reason the puck stayed in the zone and the goal was scored… THAT! Has been the problem with Montreals power play and one of the big problems we don’t have a player that can win the puck battles and keep it in the zone for more opportunities!! Every time is shoot once and the puck is cleared, Every good power play in the NhL is a good power play because the team wins battles, Keeps the puck in the zone to cause more pressure and that’s what we are missing, But we saw the future tonight SLAF IS A BEAST! And he’s going to be a VERY good player in a couple of years. Quinton Byfield when he first started playing in the NHL he was always doing the right things but the offence wasn’t there but now the points are coming because QB got use to doing the little things at the NHL level and now he’s soooo good at the little things points start to come and that will happen with Slaf, You can see exactly why Montreal wanted to keep Slaf In the NHL…. I have always been high on Slaf and if he keeps developing like this he could very well be a 75-90 point winger by the time he’s 23 years old especially once he gets stronger and he learns to use his body at the NHL level you can already see him getting use to using his body at this level imagine when he gets really good at it and gets stronger, I think a lot of fans are not realizing how good of a player Slaf can be when hes fully developed sure he’s not that crazy talent that works right away like some others, But Tage Thompson became a great player over time because he got better using the skills he already had and Slafkovsky at 19 has more skills than Tage Thompson did when he was 19…

  9. Great game, I like Slafkovsky in first line, the Caufield and Suzuki, needs this power forward in the line, to wins pucks in the corners, like tonight when he won the puck and than they score powerplay goal 🙂

  10. Technically still didn't score a real goal 🙂 This goal droubt reminds me of Steve Larmer back in the 90's I think where he was a very good goal scorer and couldn't score for a real long time I think he went 20+ also but that was a long time ago.
