Pettersson at 50% retained for the best defensman we can get.

  2. TheGreatNathan

Jack Hughes and the Devils always seem to have our number. He has 14 points in 7 career games against the Canucks. I think we only beat them once with Quinn.

  3. bleachedgin

I fucking hate Myers, he looks like he fucking got disconnected from the console at least 2x. But part of this blame has to go to the coaching staff. The line combos in the end there and trying to play safe when the Devils have so much speed. Canucks have to pressure them. Myers should get fucking benched at least 1 game for fucks sake. He never gets punished for his fucking stupid ass costly mistakes.

  4. overthisbynow

Classic Canucks Comeback. Also how tf did our defense get worse?

  5. Fickle_Cup2207

Damn boys, we had it, we were right there. Oof.

  6. Greenarrowfan

got to beat the Wild who is somewhat doing better now.

  7. DustlandFairytale_

Miller Hog and Boes is a fun line. I hope they roll that for a while.

Defence was beyond awful tonight. Can’t wait for Soucy to return. Would love Bear and Tanev also lol I just can’t stand watching Myers get so much ice time.

Kuz ins’t helping his cause at all. Coaching staff was probably already pissed about the training in Bali over the off season, and he has done nothing to prove them wrong. Probably was the right move to trade him when his value was high.

Siiiiiigh. Just an all round heartbreaker.

Eh, we played well for most of the game. Breakdowns to start and end the game cost us the whole game in the end. Outside of those breakdowns I thought we had our best game in a long time, NJ forced us to pick up the pace.

  9. poolside123

Here’s something positive. We haven’t lost 4 in a row all year. And until tonight we won at least 4 games out of 7 in a row.

It doesn’t exactly equate to the playoffs yet, but it’s a positive sign!😃

  10. If everyone on this team got going we would be incredible but it feels like to many guys decide to take a night off every single game.

  11. truestlife

    Shoot Myers into the sun

    Bench Kuzy

    Teach Ian Cole defence

I don’t even know what the fuck to do with Petey

  12. RecalcitrantHuman

The devils speed just illustrated the Canucks weaknesses

  13. The difference between the Kings and the Canucks is the Kings came back from a 3 goal deficit in the 3rd and won in OT. The Canucks came back from a 3 goal deficit in the 3rd and couldn’t make it to OT. A big sigh from me.

  14. GangreneMachine

Hoglander is an absolute beauty. Please keep him in the top six indefinitely. He is making so much happen out there.

  15. canucks5364

I’ve noticed that Petey can only play insanely well under perfect circumstances with the perfect wingers. He struggles and looks completely lost and fragile when something doesn’t go his way – he can’t carry the team on his shoulders when they need a superstar to make an impact and drag them back into the game. That’s key

I’m not blaming this game on him, just frustrated at how invisible he’s been lately when he’s supposed to be a franchise centre.

  16. Abnatural

Tyler mutherfucking Myers. Our defence was bad, Hronek and Myers though, pretty much lost us this game.
Finally Hoglander getting the time he’s earned on the 1/2 line. Fuck, I am pissed though.
Why put out Myers in the last minute?? And was it me or did we decide to try to play defensively in the last minute instead of being aggressive??

  17. epochlink

Fuck Tyler Myers back to Kelowna. Why the fuck was he out there in the final minutes of a tied game.

  18. NikkahEff

I also think it’s time for Tocch to rip the team now, he’s been quiet and really way to kind to the guys for playing 500 hockey, with this game and Minny should have been easy wins, they have a tough schedule coming up and it could be ugly really quick.

Lucky the pacific lowkey sucks because if you look at the central holy we’d be a wildcard team the way Arizona and the Blues have been playing.

  19. GangreneMachine

Devils have won 15 of the last 16 games vs the Canucks. I’m passing on those tickets if they come my way lol

  20. No-Luck-At-All

Dumbass Benning should have been fired on the spot for giving a number 6 defenseman in Myers Number 1 and 2 defenseman money in 6 million and a NTC. Thereby, hamstringing this team for 5 years.

Get ready for some rage inducing dumb decisions from Myers that will cost this team dearly in the playoffs.

  21. Greenarrowfan

well looks like Toch and coaching stufff need to do some adjustment since you can’t give up 4 goals in one period.

  22. Twinbladey

Thanks, Ian Cole, for not looking over your fucking shoulder to see glorious open ice when you had the puck behind the net and just blindly slapping it into pressing New Jersey Devils to allow their possession for their game winner.

Fuck you, 2nd and 3rd pairings.

    Fuck you.

  23. theboneandonly

Wouldn’t even take Myers back at a million for one season

  24. I got sucked back into that game after I turned it off. Checked the score and saw 5-4! Ok, let’s watch the last bit of the 3rd. It will be fun, Canucks will be pushing. Maybe get the equalizer! And they did, f-ing pumped! Pumped for hogs! Then they get hemmed in and I fucking knew I got sucked in and it was gonna turn sour! Argh! Could see that goal for the devils coming!!!

  25. metrichustle

When we sign Bear, I think Allvin is going to trade Myers. Unfortunately, he is a liability and not good even for depth.

  26. Laika4321

That was a painful finish, but maybe Hogz can stick with Miller and Boeser for a while

  27. SociopathicAutobot

Myers is on his final NHL contract. Happy for him it was a big one.

  28. nolanjack2000

All I gotta say is the in person “hype man” said “Vancouver the comeback isn’t complete yet! Let’s get loud!” After the tieing goal. Then we proceeded to get trapped and scored on. You do not say the c word

  29. TheGreatNathan

I want Demko to win the Vezina. I hope they rest him and he finds his game. The last two games have dropped him down to a .918 SV%. Not looking great considering Hill and Swayman are over .930 SV% despite having better support.

  30. theboneandonly

Pettersson screwed himself not re-signing during the off-season. Bet on himself and is losing so far. I would laugh in his agent’s face if I was the GM and he was asking for 12 million.

  31. shadownet97

We’re almost to the point of potentially overplaying Demko. Yes I know the next few teams are actual playoff teams and next game vs MIN is going to be tough since they’re doing really well as of late, but holy crap, I think we can afford to put in DeSmith on Thursday. Carolina on Saturday and Tampa on Tuesday are going to definitely be huge challenges.

  32. International_Pen478

I’m not one to pile on, but my brothers in christ Myers can sure make things go rough on any given night! What seemed like an off night for most of the team just wasn’t enough chaos for the giraffe.

  33. xtothewhy

Tocchet super not happy with Kuzmenko in interview, says he’s tired of answering questions about it. Then goes on to say Kuz needs to forecheck.

    He sounds frustrated.

  34. perfect5-7-with-rice

Anyone else not care at all about the on the road / at home stats?

  35. Would’ve been nice to push to OT to score one point, but one hell of a comeback. The game had many flaws, but they almost found a way back.

  36. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrpp

Travis Green just relieved that these are still the Canucks he knows well

  37. Nonfuture

    Positive takeaways:

    * New 1st line of Hogs-JT-Boes looks absolutely killer especially when JT is throwing his body around, disrupting plays.
    * Lafferty still looking pretty good, plays a heavy north south game like the coaches want

Would like to see Joshua-Petey-Garland play together. Petey can take a backseat and use his hockey IQ to find open space to tap in rebounds, get open for a shot, etc. Let Garland and Joshua grab the puck during their forecheck
