Don't hate. Royce Gracie was known for using his gi sleeve for added leverage. That didn't work, though, because Sakuraba kept messing with Royce's gi. But you have to be as wildly unorthodox as Sakuraba to pull that off, I suppose.

Yeah, that’s not how bjj works. That’s not illegal either.
This is totally legal, there are a bunch of techniques that involve untucking your opponents gi to wrap around their body for leverage.
