The New York Islanders should be embarrassed. They blew a 4-1 lead at home to the San Jose Sharks, the team with the worst record in the league. This team continues to find ways to give away points by not playing a full 60 minutes and changes have to be made whether it’s to the lineup, the roster or the coaching staff.
There were some bright spots like Simon Holmstrom, Mike Reilly and Julien Guathier but overall, the breakdowns have to end and this team needs to play better. Will Lou Lamoriello make a coaching change or a roster change? We’ll see what Lou decides.

How can isles blow yet another 4-1 lead with another third period collapse against an ahl like sj team at the bottom of the standings with a 32nd gf 32nd ga and 31st ranked pk? The answer is isles go into fkn snooze control when they get a two goal lead thinking they can just cruise thru third to win. No excuses for lazy ass mistakes like pulock failing to clear puck out on lebanc goal. Or horvat failing to get puck out on tying goal and losing coverage as isles let most dangerous shark hertl slip in behind d and score from side of net. Or dobson who i praised last night pinching in in ot and he and barzal fail to get puck as sharks break-out and eklund scores ot winner. In fkn excusable lazy shit. And isles for once outshoot a sorry opponent only to blow yet another point. Two pp goals and sh goal gone to waste. Still a two pronged problem. A lame-o coach who can't get this team to play hard all game is troubling. And louzer's roster of too comfy lazy players who take the pedal off the medal with third period leads. Louzer needs to get off his ass and make a move-this stale roster needs a make-over. A kick in the ass or just start giving ahl'ers a chance. And look at the -3 -2 of barzal bo, lee, romanov and others. sj was a -53 gf ga coming into game. That says it all.

Tonight the team was an absolute joke to the hockey world and an embarassment to their entire fanbase. Do I seriously need to give up on them for good? I've been a fan since the cup years.
ive seen this movie over and over and over 500 times under lambert but never under trotz. Let me add, when lamoriello fired trotz that was the exact moment he lost all credability with me. I mean that was during covid and many unmitigating factors nothing to do with trotz. We had 1 freaking playoff series win in what 26 years? Then under trotz we had what 8 playoff series wins in 3 years and you fire him? These are the 3 people responsible ……#1 lamoriello #2 lambert #3 sorokin has to be MUCH better.
Well my favourite players are the goalies….however I feel that Sorokin lost me at the end….very lame does not move quick enough regarding the blind spots….gee hope the islanders win from now on….golly

The owners seem to care about something other than winning. I don't know what is going through Lou's mind. When he was GM of the Devils, he fired a coach headed to the playoffs, Robbie Ftorek, and wound up winning the Cup. Here, the Islanders keep blowing leads, and he does nothing.

This isn’t an excuse but our top 3 defenseman are playing well over 20 minutes a game, they’re shot by the end of the third. Dobson, Romanov and Pulock are being over taxed. Why did Reilly only have 6 minutes? He’s a good defender play him! You have to also play Buldoc more minutes! (He sucks) but that’s what we have, so use them for 15-16 minutes a night! You can’t keep using the same 3 Defensemen for an entire game night in and out. Lee needs to sit and Palmarie is giving us nothing!
Pour Coaching !!! Would this really be going on with a top quality NHL Coach, No ! Veteran players there absolutely no excuses for losing games that you’re leading, but every single time, this will be Make It or Break it this month, if the islanders don’t put the pedal down and have a winning month of December, they might as well Tank and try and end up with a good draft pick, it’s not fun watching these guys lose game after game when they are winning, COACHING CHANGE ASAP !!!!

What can be done outside of coaching change? louzer looks at the standings and still sees isles in 8th spot content with borderline playoff team kidding himself into thinking isles are better than they are. Only team in playoff spot on – side, -10. Only a matter of time before tb, pens, or nj get hot and roll off winning streak and leave isles in dust. A complete collapse and bottoming out is the only way to force changes to this run it back bunch of louzers. And look at ahl stats. This team has no hope no future. A cleansing and bottoming out is needed. Start with louzer and lame-0.

I was at a party and the score was 4-1 and I came in the bar and asked to see what the final was, to my shock they just lost it. This is a load of hot garbage. Something needs to change and fast. This is disgracefully. If Lou does nothing we as a fan base need to hit them in the wallet.

I hate this team. How you can have a 3 goal lead and flush it down the tank so fast, then lose in OT with 5 seconds left is beyond me. The culture of this team needs to change quickly. That idiot should never have let Trotz go.

Islanders really showed contrast to Devils game. I could not believe Vancouver tied it up. Only for New Jersey to actually score a goal in Regulation to totally shaft their fans. Especially with Logan Couture injured Hertl is the Best player on Sharks. How do you leave him open for Hat Trick? Pul had a weird play when like skated like was going to score on own net only to give it away for a goal. I was cold trying to get warm listening to the game. It was like 4 to 1 in the 3rd. I had to setup this 4K LG but had like these chills. I thought of going to the game with my 39 Jeff Friesen Jersey. Though I might have got mauled way that game went wearing that. These are the Jets from NFL. I had flashbacks to Wood with Engvall failing to score on breakaways. Dell I think shutout Islanders on SJ. So they struggle against those backup goalies or teams :)?
