  1. I was mad when jerm didnt re-sign w us. He had been the special teams ace and had contributed significantly in our 3-3 finish in 2021. Him and julian okwara single handedly shut down arizona that year when they were reeling. Always had an affinity for him as a pass defender… Iffy melifonwu is my other guy rn im shouting for more defensive reps. He has a 75 pff grade ffs lol. Let the man eat!

  2. Jack is already solid and bordering on very very good. Whats taken barnes 4 years to figure out…campbell has figured out in less than 1.

  3. JRM was starter for the lions before he left and was quite effective probably one of the best on the defense at that time. He affected this game almost every snap he was on the field

  4. The very first play you you put on display, there's an open Saint at the 50 yard line. Is that a blown assignment?

  5. Excellent observations sir….your stating what I've known and been saying…I'm a lions fan and we finally have winning ingredients, for the cake recipes…I expect these talented rookies including (cambell).J.Cambell and 97 both play like hungry wolves….take it one step further,I think u will see the lions in the Superbowl….last week I predicted the Niners would soundly beat the Eagles. San Fran is and pretty much always has been an excellent well schooled (coached )team. ….The Eagles weakness can be stopping the run….Nobody runs the football w an intentional attitude,i felt if the Niners would Hit them (Eagles) with A 1-2 punch w MCcafrey and Debold Samuel that would punch holes and wear down the Eagles…..Outcome San Fran 42-22 etc…..eagles score was cosmetic…Thank you sir for great breakdown and analysis…….

  6. That sequence at 10:30 is unreal. What a bully. Helps Benito hold his ground, blows up the lead block, and makes the play. Never overcommitted, never lost sight of the ball.

  7. The first half defense was far superior to the second half. What did the Lions do differently in the second half? It was the difference adjustments that the Saints offense h made?

  8. Well done again. A few things; JRM ended up starting at inside LB in 2021 and did an okay job. His optimal role is ST ace and back up LB.
Jack does have one sack from early in the season, and yes he looks to be a very good run defender, although the Lions need him to improve his play in pass coverage. He has the physical traits to do it well, he just needs more training/coaching.

One other point from your video, Hutch played a lot better than he got credit for. He kept a hard edge and was somewhat disruptive against the run. The Lions need to get more creative to jump start their pass rush. They can’t just rely on him to be the only pass rusher.

  9. Jack is definitely a big reason why our run D is improved. Alex is excellent in coverage. I agree Barnes is best suited as an outside

  10. You cover him well. He has a whole bag of tricks when he’s in downhill mode, large tackle radius too. Hate him at the edge. “You don’t judge a fish on its ability to fly…”-Einstein

  11. Great video, young bucks coming along nicely on defense. I wasn’t crazy about the LBer value in the first round but am coming around.

  12. One, I just wanted to say how much I appreciate these film breakdowns of the Lions. Two, I'm glad it seems you love Jack Campbell as much as me! I'm hopeful Anzelone gets another week to heal up and Jack gets another week of experience at MLB. I really think he has all the qualities to not just be good, but to be a legit All-Pro, but he needs snaps in order to continue his improvement. Also, I completely agree that I'd like to Barnes at SAM more and keep Jack in the middle, that alignment just plays better to their respective strengths.

  13. JRM cut into some of those eye candy plays it seemed like. Jack running down ball carriers INSTANTLY is amazing, along with Branch and Hutch they’ve got a strong trio there. More pieces and chemistry along the DL or athletic freaks with these guys running stunts sounds good to me!

  14. Just subscribed to your channel, this is really a great video and analysis. Jack Campbell played well. I agree with you, he should play at least 40 snaps a game, and while he is a great run, stuffer, he should also be in there on passing downs. He may be the Lions most complete linebacker.

The lions need to figure out a way to make the quarterback get rid of the ball more quickly; without that, give them enough time, most NFL quarterbacks are going to pick you apart.

Also I think they misusing Hutchinson, they need to go back to using him the way they did last year, where he stood up off the line of scrimmage, moved him around. He’s an intuitive player. And they need to go to a 3-4-4 D, not a 4-2-5.

  15. Not sure what you’re all smoking but this was a terrible first round pick. Maybe in time he gets somewhat better but time can’t fix flat footed and slow. He should never be in pass coverage period.
