Almost half of our shot disparity vs the league average is explained by how we’re not taking nearly as many low quality long distance shots as other teams. That’s 1.75 more shots per game that at our current 1.9 sh% from that distance would be worth 0.8 goals. I’d much rather we continued to pass up those weak chances to look for better opportunities, even if we’ll be outshot on paper most nights this season.
