No thanks, as much as I want defence I don’t want other teams holding our feet to the fire over some grudge about leaving a team. We’ll go somewhere else. Have fun with a 7th round pick when you trade him Flames

The alternative to overpaying is Toronto trading with one of the 30 teams who aren’t the Flames.
The Flames are well outside of a playoff spot with Lindholm and 5 of their 7 defenceman about to hit UFA. There are a limited number of buyer teams interested in the Flames D. The Flames are welcome to have their pending UFAs walk in return for no assets because Edwards is a being a child.
