[Basu] Sam Montembeault will start for the Canadiens tomorrow, ending their streak of having no goalie start consecutive games. The last goalie to start a second straight game for Montreal was Jake Allen on Oct. 23.

Not starting Monty would have sent a very weird message.
I guess we can expect a 50-25-25 split or so? Basically Monty-Allen-Monty-Primo?
Good — he’s been by far the best of the three. I’m excited to see if he can become a true #1 over the next couple years — his poise and calmness in nets these days give me budget-Price vibes.
Now move Allen and let Primeau sink or swim as backup. Worst case scenario he helps us get a decent pick.
Thank god again, loving the news cycle today Marty 🫡
Hopefully all this good news also means ohtani is coming home to Canada
I’m fully engaged and expecting a W when Monty starts. I’m sure the players in front of him feel the same excitement.
This team plays so much different in front of Monty. They’re on their toes because they know he’ll be there to back them up!
I readily admit I haven’t watched every game the last couple years but I don’t understand when I see people really down on Montembeault. He’s been really good almost every time I’ve seen him start and he seems to be trending up. Maybe I’m missing something though
That is quite the streak. It might be good to trade Allen and get some value from the trade deadline.
Man, I need to wait until tomorrow to see the Habs play? Ughhh
Forgive me cause I haven’t paid as much attention as I would have liked so far this year, but was the 3 goalie system something they said from the start they would do?
