Smith said yesterday he wasn’t sure what would happen in terms of getting back in the lineup, but looks like he’s going right back in. #NJDevils https://t.co/Szmuj5SxZq

Can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m looking forward to seeing Smith back on LW. Even more excited that Nemec is staying in the lineup with Smith coming back.
Bastian has been invisible all year. Lazar seems to have taken his role from last year so I’m not upset he’s out. However, it’s my sworn duty to be upset by this.
I don’t hate this. He’s a fine forward, especially with sheltered 4th line minutes
I love this. Seattle is gonna get chippy tonight for sure and Smith does bring a fuck around and find out energy with him. Also, the other forwards seem to feed of that energy more when he’s a winger compared to a D-man. I have no stats to back this up, just an eye test.
Smith has actually been one of our best penalty killers all season so I’m happy he’s back for that reason alone. Our PK hasn’t looked too great lately
As long as Nemec stays in, I’m good with it. Even if Nemec has an off night I do not want him sent up to the press box so Smith can play D. If Nemec for some reason starts struggling for a while, he should be back in AHL to keep playing top minutes
4th line smith is a menace.
bring him up to the 1st you cowards
This is my favorite iteration of Brendan smith
It’s official, change his roster spot, update his stattracker, change his wikipedia, get him a grinder tag in nhl24 and slap him on the 4th line wing. The re emergence of Brendan Smith.
But honestly he has the most benefit for the team and least potential to hurt it. 🤷
