  1. Rule is Rule. its appreciating that the rule applied and Shakib remembered that unique rule. Before Shakib appeal Umpire was responsible to apply this rule.

  2. shakib taking a professional and logical response. This was in the laws of the game. we should respect the shakib decision. if Matthews has a problem for that. before he comes to play he should check safety for himself. 😆Matthews should learn for the future .

  3. After few days, sri lankan will go to Bangladesh after getting bowled and will say what kind of bowled this is, stamp isnt broken, its against the spirit of cricket😢

  4. This happens first time ever in cricket history. Bangladesh is the most indecent cricket team ever in the cricket , because any other team will just won.t appeal it 😁

  5. Listen…it’s a World Cup and invariably there a fine margins when it comes to a win or a loss, not forgetting the sportsmanship factor I don’t blame Bangladesh and Shakib for this, if it’s in the rules and it’s broken then that’s the end of it. He’s not in the wrong for wanting a victory for his nation.

  6. Bangladesh team has been trying hard to get this stage for a long time and we have a lot of respect for them. All gone now so Sad for them because this is not time wasting helmet was broken in the crease . True spirit of cricket is gone. Now its no more a gentleman game. The umpairs should at least find out what happened in the middle.
    too bad 💩

  7. He's played 200+ ODI and 100+ Tests – he knows the rules. No-one to blame but himself, just like Bairstow in the Ashes

  8. Umpires were extremely stupid. Clearly an equipment malfunction and Angelo should have been allowed time to get a new helmet, pure and simple! Shakib should have been overruled by the umpires.

  9. Smartest thing was to face the first ball and change the helmet. It’s a worldCup cry not loud! You must have equipment in place for this stage. An angel supplied the wrong helmet to Anjela. Shakib’s appeal is legitimate; but who makes the final decision. Rules is rules, no matter how much you argue. Beside, in the press conference Mathews disrespected umpires, so does entire team disrespected ICC not shaking hand. How immature people are in the world of cricket. Simply accept it and live on.

  10. NO 01 IS SAFETY
At that time, the helmet ⛑ had not fallen under the Sri Lankan scoreboard…
That's why everyone saw that the belt from the helmet ⛑ was broken.
As gentleman spirit of game ICC should not approve this and this is so bad because it's happened due to maleficent of head gear…
That's why SHAKIB AL HASSAN, the experienced leader of the Bangladesh team (people like Liton Dass, who reversed the Mancard against New Zealand Zodhi)
opportunistic behavior in aiming of win anyway…!
The judges admitted that no batsman in the world approves, and before passing the judgement, they should have looked for more video evidence on that fact.

    IS THIS ETHICAL WORLD CUP?
    GENTLEMEN GAME??
ALL WILL GO SOCCER ⚽ OR SOMETHING IF PLAYERS AND TEAMS POLUTE SPIRIT OF LEGENDARY CRICKET

If this happened to KHOLI 😅
    1). SHAKIB WILL SILENCE
    2). All books will close
3).umpires and DRS and ICC all run to bring a branded parts to him.
while holding all shit rules and ethics will matter only them because aiming for mancard or any unethical way only for win anyway even with a murder other opponent…

  11. You have to see the video of Philip huge death. Then you understand the value of life then a wicket. Your family cares your like more then a wicket of one match.

  12. LOL. Mathews talked about common sense, of which he lakes most…. As a professional he should have had common sense to ask umpire or any opposite player to let know of his helmet malfunction situation before going out to fetch it by himself. He is just trying to hide that his lack of common sense cost Srilanka…. finding excuses..
Its in the rules, just like Mathews approve mandkandt…. KARMA

  13. Straight to the hall of SHAME with no delay!
What a shameful act! Once there Bangaladesh players came to the crease without the Groin Guard, but Sri Lankans allowed him to play without any interruption. That's called sportsmanship.

Nobody can justify this disgraceful act. Anyway, the damage has already been done. Shakib and Bangladesh players had shown their true colors to the whole world. Way cheaper! 🤡

  14. It's pretty surprising to hear Angelo Mathews express such critical opinions about another captain and their team. One might recall that Mathews was at the helm during a contentious moment in the England vs. Sri Lanka match where the 'Mankading' incident involving Senanayake and Jos Buttler occurred. As captain, Mathews upheld what some considered a divisive decision. This historical context lends a complex layer to the current discussion on the 'spirit of the game.' It's an opportune moment to reflect that controversies are not uncommon in the sport, and many teams and captains have found themselves navigating the fine line between the rules and the spirit in which they're intended. Every single team or every single player that we have seen at the international level has broken the 'spirit of the game" at some point in their career. Perhaps this reminds the cricket community to practice self-reflection before passing judgment.

  15. 2014 Senna Nayak mankad Jos Butler in a series decider and Anjelo Mathews was captain. England captain Alistair Cook requested Mathews to withdraw the decision but Mathews didn't! so where was spirit of cricket?

  16. Who created this rule wasn't he a gentleman? People who are not used to following rules are supporting mathews. But people are ignoring while gentleman mathew threw helmet to ground that was very gentlemen like😂 and what he did while liton was massaged in his injury where was your common sense while complaining to ean bishop, umpires you behaved like kids you should respect icc laws by using your common sense 😊.

  17. Shame on Bangladesh 🇧🇩 👎🏽👎🏽
    Bloody cowards!
    Once a looser always a looser! 😏
Known for their cheap cricket! 🏏
When you don't have spirit to win a game then all you are left with is using those cheap tricks in cricket….👎🏽👎🏽
    After this:
😂Itna samjh gya pure Bangladesh ki phaatti hai Angelo Mathews🔥 se…

  18. Mathews should have faced the first ball and then called for a new helmet.
He was facing a spinner after all.
Would expect better from an old pro like Mathews, for him to have some savvy.
This is international, world cup cricket where success or failure is sometimes a matter of tiny margins.
    Nothing wrong with the dismissal.

  19. ICC have to do something about these 'rules'

You can't have 'rules' that apparently go against the "spirit of the game"

And besides that, bowling teams get penalised because of slow over rate quite harshly.
And so the bowling team only appealed, almost casually and after the umpires got confirmation, they gave the decision which was even cleared up by the fourth umpire during the innings break.

Really not a big fan of this sort of dismissals but the way Mathews and co. is portraying Shakib to be this villain is just ridiculous and saying stuff like "they stooped so low" is plain immaturity

  20. The worst part is …….Shakib is part of IPL …… Shakib is this what you learnt in INDIA??? DO you call this sportsman spirit??? the KKR IPL franchise of Shakib should just BAN him because he proves now for the sake of WIN he and his team can go to any extent to the extent that our country is defamed.

  21. hey steve, are you saying ICC does not have common sense? if your team did it…then it was OK, stop preaching!!! those days over..

  22. Can not expect gentlemen's qualities from Bangladesh. Anyway, Angellow should be proud as his name is on the world's record. 😃

  23. Hermisson answer is the most accurate "IT IS A BIG MESS" that's the situation where you need philosophy that true or false doesn't exist, it's neither fault. You can only say its an Unlucky Dismissal, period.

  24. Listen All Bangladeshis,
From the comment section I found that all Pakistanis are trying to be nice here. They feel sorry for Mathews, despite Methews was talking bad about whole Bangladesh. And if someone have commonsense problem its Mathews he didnt have game awarness and he was like the Field was his Fathers Property. From Waqar yonus to Shoib all are acting against Shakib.
Fixers are talking about game spirt and ethics.😆😆😆😆

If anyone have some shame then never support Pakistan because they are not our Brothers. We must stand with our team.

  25. Its a law of ICC.ICC should be blame for this kind of law. Nobody use this law does not mean it will not use in future.ICC should be banned for this kind of law.. Even Mathew's as a captain also use mancard out against Butler 9 years before but he didn't show the sprite of cricket to Butler or any kindness. So if someone use same kind of law against him then that should be accepted positively.. Social Media acting like as beghani shade me Abdullah dewana… …no need helmet to face sakib ball. You have to be ready to face first ball with proper equipments. So don't waste valuable time.. …..

  26. Debatable. It's not straight forward.

For example, couldn't the appeal have been timed out given that they appealed after the batsman's helmet strap issue (the 4th umpire said that the batsman was already late before the helmet strap issue, so the fielding team should have appealed or initiated the appeal in that window between the moment he was timed out and before the strap issue) and given that the umpires only give out through players appeal?

If the players did not appeal in good time that could be construed that they were ok with the situation.

This is a very important question and point I am making.
