On a good or average night, he is shooting better than ever. He could always read the game like few players. Unfortunately for his legacy he should have built his shooitng abiliry years earlier at the top of his athletic ability. I understand that there is so much you can invest within your athletic career. On the other hand, by being a srreaky shooter he gave the spurs and the maverics the tools to win against him. They just chose to challenge him to shoot and close down his path to paint..That is why he lost so many times… He had the potential to become undeniably the greatest of all time. He had the athletic ability, the mind for the game and unfortunately he lacked confidence on his shot. He still cannot 100% count on his free throw shot in clutch moments.
Nowadays, in reality he is bellow average as a defensive player and he saves his energy for the offensive end of the flour. Overall its easier to score (almost zero traceling which is a huge advantage, the bullshit step back three ans so on) than to defend in todays game.
From my point of view: (I used to be a huge fan at the start of his career and) I thought he had the potential to become the goat. Hearing the guy proclaiming himself the goat made me loose my respect for him.
I didnt see him reach goat status either. Where is his three peat? He lost way too much and its not his temmates fault. He lost against Greece in 2006 with the USA squad !!! Replace lebron with kobe and team USA 2006 doesn't fail. Once Kobe got on the roster they stopped losing and it was because kobe could make his own shot with the game on the line. Lebron didnt have the tools to impose his will.
People are giving LbJ credit and rightfully so for his performance at this age. But the guy was a disaster in the clutch moments against the Nuggets in games 1,2 & 4 killing his team chances to win in the finals. His records (positive and negative) are practically longevity records that mean nothing in terms of winning. Last year he got the total points record and he almost got eliminated from the playoffs. He was injured when his team made the comeback towards the playoffs.
The guy still needs to win in the playoffs even if he is no 2 on his team. That would make a serious impact for his goat status. I honestly wanna see him go for another run at the title and I would love to see him prove me wrong when I think that he cannot carry his team (even as a secind beat player) to another NBA championship.

The Lakers put it all together in this game on both ends, it seemed like in the 3rd quarter they just kicked it into another gear on both ends against the younger team and just blew them out. If the Lakers play like this every night, with this same type of purpose on both ends the league is in trouble.
