5 years ago, LA insisted on acquiring Sean Durzi in the Muzzin trade and passed on Liljegren. Who would you rather have today?

From Elliotte Friedman’s [31 Thoughts](https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/31-thoughts-three-key-decisions-holding-nhl-trade-deadline-dominos/):

>”5. Los Angeles and Toronto sparred over 2019 first-rounder Rasmus Sandin. The Maple Leafs told anyone who asked they did not want to include him, and held firm. They did, however, remain Muzzin’s most consistent and aggressive pursuer. Montreal and Tampa Bay were in the picture at times, with the Canadiens trying to get him in the aborted Max Pacioretty deal. I was initially surprised that Timothy Liljegren wasn’t included. But, after looking deeper, teams are down on him right now. He’s not yet 20 — way too soon to give up — but several scouts were not surprised the Kings chose OHL Guelph’s Sean Durzi over Liljegren.”

Liljegren has 43P in 151 GP | +34 | 49.3 dZS% | 16:42 ATOI

Durzi has 78P in 160 GP | -12 | 43.5 dZS% | 20:09 ATOI

Articles about LA and Toronto aren’t making me think about hockey for some reason.

What the fuck are you talking about dude, if durzi was in in Toronto he’d be great on the marlies, and if liljegren was in the situations durzi has been in then everyone would rightfully realize he’s a very very very good second pairing guy. Like it’s not even close I don’t get it???

  3. Liljegren. I also don’t think Bourne actually knows anything about trade discussions and don’t for one second believe this was really the case.

Liljegren and it’s not even close.

    Also, fuck Marchand.

    I miss Durzi.

    I’d rather have Liljegren easily

Personally I have no clue. Like most people around here I haven’t seen Durzi play more than five games, tops.

Who’s Durzi? I Remember leafs were happy that Liljegren was still the board when they drafted him.

I know it’s a different trade but what about Trevor Moore?

I’ve been a life time leaf fan of 45 years and all I can think about right now is Shohei Ohtani and Woll’s injury. I think I might have to like baseball again.

  10. Durzi was one of those players that I thought should have kept and never traded. Looks like he’s turned out to be a stud

Friedman is always making shit up. He needs to fill up space.

  12. Liljegren needs to be given the same shot as durzi. 20 plus minutes a night and let him free
