Oilers fans: should we be looking for someone like Corey Perry, Wayne Simmonds for some much needed grit? What about Eric Staal? All three are not currently on teams and we could get them for league minimum. Perhaps a trade for Marc Staal on the Flyers? We need more experience on our team to help some of these young guys.
It's so painfully obvious Skinner has no idea how to play well when his team is playing badly. Skinner is not an elite talent. It's also painfully obvious his Calder candidate campaign last year was a complete smoke and mirrors show due to the fact the Oilers were outscoring all their problems last year. Skinner has no ability to process more than 1 scoring option and or chance generated by routine offensive pressure. Skinner is so committed to one play he'll never prepare himself for 2nd or 3rd efforts raining down on him by the opposing team. He is no where near being a playoff goalie. Not even close. Oilers need a #1 goalie asap. We got lucky tonight even with 40 shots on goal. Go Oilers!
The Oilers have stabilized and are now building Chemistry . All arrows are pointing up now. Just stay focused on the work at hand, one game at a time. Well done.
