The way the Canucks have started games in the last little stretch is concerning. Had it not been DeSmith standing on his head last night, the Canucks could have been buried easily from the first period alone. Personally, I think Hoglander should be given a chance to play on the Petey line – his pace and hustle may just be what is needed to get Petey's line to score again…
was at the game. close to the ice. as a big Kuz fan last year I paid special attention to him. boy is he a floater right now. all he did offensively was tap his stick and wait for sweet passes (which never came). he didn't try to create anything. no grit, not hits, glides back and forth. look on his face showed no passion / energy. his version of forechecking is to kinda wave his stick as people speed past him then go off for a change. he looked like 10% the player Miller is.
Agreed with Dhali, sign Lafferty. Of course, if the price is right! Alvin is no Benning giving out min. $3 mil for the bottom 6 players like Beagle and Rousell! Lafferty will be signed. You watch Drancer!
Kuzmenko doesn't like back checking, going to the corners, or checking in general. He does at least not have a problem going to the front of the net, because he wants to score. The Canucks have to have someone on the Pettersson line who goes into corners and digs the puck out on the forecheck. Right now that Pettersson and that means he's not going to be scoring and setting up as many goals. Either Kuzmenko or Mikheyev have to be replaced by someone with a bit more sandpaper on that line.

I agree with TD Kuz is a good player, IMO he isn’t the problem, Pettersson is, if EP didn’t take a moth off Kuz would have played well
