Oilers Trade Eberle to Islanders for Ryan Strome

This is a hockey trade brought about by cap concerns. I think it works for both teams. Let me know what you guys think.

  1. For all you Eberle whiners sit back and relax…let me guess your the same people who had menstral cramps when Hall for Larsen trade took place…players strive in different roles and cities, maybe not this one but you never know…let's talk by December and see how things are going….then piss n moan if you don't like what you see.

  2. Hey, I'm not sure if it's your video or my phone that I'm using to watch your video right now but the audio de-synced with the video. It wasn't egregious or anything but you where definitely still moving your mouth in video while the audio had already finished. I just wanted to give you the heads up incase it's not the YouTube app on my phone that's responsible.

  3. i feel like whenever someone reasonable is moved you always compare it to the outcome with the canucks if he was there or you wish he would go to the canucks lol no hate meant

  4. Sorry to see Eberle got traded. His hockey IQ was second only to connor in that dressing room. His hands. Stickhandling. His shot.
In playoffs? He hit post like three or four times? Got absolutely robbed just as many times!
If half those go in? Oilers were into the final.
Pouliot is the cheapest weak sauce guy in oil country. Hate that guy!!
    Go Cagguila!!!

  5. Strome's cap hit this year is only 2.5 so the oil saved 3.5, and the oil get younger. Certainly a trade that makes sense from both sides. I'll only be upset if the saved money is used on a massive Russell contract in the 4×4 range.

  6. Really hard to see my favourite player of the last 6-7 years get traded but hopefully he does great with Tavares on the island

  7. John Tavares and Jordan Eberle played together at the World Juniors. This is not that tournament no more, but could be great combo. Too bad some fans in the building can't see it due to cut off sidelines. (Just had to throw that in there)

  8. Puloit needs too go 4 million for him what Maroons better and he's only at 1 million at the moment

  9. I agree, this is a pretty good trade for both teams, and it does make sense for salary cap reasons. It also answers my question for why the Islanders did what they did yesterday.

The Islanders add themselves another potential weapon on their right wing, and I think Eberle can pick up where Okposo left off, cause the Islanders look like they really missed Okposo last season. This is a potentially dangerous first line by putting Eberle with Lee and Tavares together.

The Oilers need cap room to sign McDavid and Draisaitl, and Strome is a relatively cheap option for their forward corps. He's no Eberle, but Strome is still a decent second or third line forward. He will be a good fit on Draisaitl's wing, assuming he does becomes their second line center.

    Just my two cents.

  10. Stromer is a really good player, young and only going to get better, i personally think Edmonton won this trade. I cant see Eberle make any big diffrence with the Islanders. And his contract is out of this world.

  11. In juniors Eberle was money in big games. I don't think it's fair to knock him for one bad playoffs. But ya his salary was an issue.

  12. we made out like a bandit with Reinhardt, Yamamoto, signed Russel, what a couple of days! Hockey is not the same game it was five years ago and eberle's juke is fooling nobody. If I was playing with McDavid I'd get ten goals myself, so yeah cap hit was not happening. Ciareli has yet to be proven wrong on any move whatsoever, I think he made hits at every at bat with these moves aswell
