Our d depth is insane and that’s what wins you championships. A strong back end. Not to mention Monty’s just entering his prime, Primeau has made a lot of progress this year. We have the top defenceman and one of if not the top goalie in the college circuit. Mesar and Roy look like potential top 6 impact players. Future is bright!

Lets hope it holds, we were in a very very very similar position at this point last year (28 games 13 wins – 12 losses – 28 points)

Love being able to watch a game and just watch our core develop. Fun to think of what the future could look like if a few prospects hit. Imagine something like:
Caufield – Suzuki – Slaf
Newhook – Dach – FA/2024 1st rounder
Heineman – Evans – Roy
RHP – Beck – Gally
Hutson – Reinbacher
Guhle – Barron
Struble – Xhekaj/Kovacevic
Obviously not everyone pans out but this doesn’t even include Ylonen, who’s looking great, and then a bunch of prospects like Mesar (who knows, maybe he fills that top-six role), Farrell, and other bottom-six and 4/5D prospects like Kapanen, Engstrom, Konyushkov… the cupboards are STOCKED.

I have faith in Suzuki, Dach, and Caufield to be top-6 players for a long time (hopefully Dach can recover from his injury).
I think Slafkovsky will grow into a top-6 player, but at worst will be a big body secondary scorer.
I think Newhook will be a solid 2nd line winger, and Ylonen and RHP can be good secondary scorers.
I’m hoping Beck becomes a strong two-way Center, And Roy becomes a good scoring top-6 winger.
That’s 8 players in a future top-9, with Mesar, Kidney, Heineman, Farrell, Kapanen, etc. possibly breaking through as well.
It could be solid, but we could really use another offensive threat at the top of the line-up to round it out. This would be a really good year to win a draft lottery, and add a couple 1st round picks.

The only thing that concerns me is that I was told Laval would be fun to watch this year, and they are not.

If we can hit the jackpot and get our hands on a top 3 pick this year, I’d be very confident about a championship happening in the next 10years
