He doesn’t look nearly as dangerous this year but I still think he’ll have some positive shift in his shooting percentage by the end of the year.

His place in greatness can never be overtaken, he’s not too concerned
self_direct_person
he shouldn’t beat Gretzky out of respect for the greatest to ever play. Tie him maybe don’t pass the great one please.

Ovi pace is slowing way down.

When the greats fall, it’s usually off a cliff.
BallsMahogany_redux
He’s had like 3 goals called back this year so far and has hit quite a few posts. He’ll probably finish in the high 20s low 30s this year. Which definitely isn’t usual Ovi pace, but certainly isn’t awful.
Reallyme77
He’s going to do it but it’s going to be a lot closer than I thought it would be 2 or 3 years ago.

I wonder if he’ll get it, the great 8 is getting old for NHL standards (Jagr doesn’t count)
travissius
If Gretzky’s takes on his records are genuine, he’s not sweating it he’s welcoming it.
capsrock02
I like how there’s been a total 180 on this. It’s called an unbreakable record for a reason! The fact that it’s even possible is insane.
SeiderIsLord
How long do the caps carry him if he keeps losing his mojo?
Metalsheepapocalypse
Gretzky is too humble to want his records unbeaten. He’d shake the hands of anyone who beats his records (and then does a sports betting commercial with them)
TheMannisApproves
How many did Gretzky get and how many is Ovechkin at now?
you_dumb_fuckerinno
Gretzky’s Dad Walter is one of the all-time great humans. Wayne speaks on why he wants Ovi to break the goals record. He was raised the right way.
senfan14
Lol Backstrom is out and he needs someone to pass to him and kuzy is on the block
SleepWouldBeNice
Meh. Gretzky could have gotten a lot more goals if he wasn’t getting so many assists. Ovi doesn’t have *nearly* as many assists.
MelodyT478
He better get his shit together then. He’s slowed way downc

I just want this to be the 99th comment.

What seemed like an inevitability is now in supreme doubt.
Unfortunate, but it looks like that record might be safe..
