Karlsson Set to Sign Eight Year Extension with Golden Knights

Apparently, William really enjoys playing there and wanted a maximum term deal.

  1. That’s a very good contract. He’ll likely never score 40 again. But if he can score 25-30, the contract is a bargain regardless. You can tell he’s one of those guys who wants to win, and doesn’t care about the money. If he was after money, he would’ve wanted a short term deal.

  2. Right on Karlsson! Wish all players were like you. He plays friggin hard and it shows he wants Vegas to win! I’m getting a 71 jersey to celebrate. Hope knights can keep Eakin and Belle too.

  3. So he’s happy with eight more years of heartbreak at the hands of the San Jose Sharks? Okay. We will gladly deliver

  4. This channel is more interesting and well thought out than most of the so called professionally produced shows on NHL Network, NFL Network, or ESPN.

  5. Classy move by Karlsson. He likely understands that he will make plenty of money and is helping the team by not being greedy. Hats off to both Karlsson and Vegas.

  6. Columbus made huge mistake not giving Karlsson a chance, then letting him go. Plus, this contract speaks to his value system. Not surprised he has done so well in Vegas. Very glad for him. In the meantime, Jackets sold out for playoff run, which was fun, but I don't see any of their free agents staying around. Wish we still had Karlsson..

  7. Good for him. If he's somewhere he fits, somewhere he wants to be, and it's not outrageous for the franchise, GREAT! Players do tend to play better when they're where they wanna be and make some good money.

    Also blackjack, and hookers.

  8. William Karlsson in my books is not a selke level forward. That being said, his deal is amazingly good for Vegas. Probably VGK 3rd best player after Stone and Stastny. If he gets his game going more might be the best guy of them all.

  9. Looks like Wild Bill wanted term over money. He has stability now. As a Sharks fan, not too happy that my team has to deal with Wild Bill for 8 years (assuming he doesn't get traded, bought out, etc.), but good for him. He seemed to have really broken out with VGK and now it's rewarded.

  10. Yeah Karlsson is not better than Stone. Stone is far and away their best player. He’s literally the only winger that people consider Selke caliber which says a whole hell of a lot about his defensive game and he’s great offensively too

  11. Of course, the contract is just the start. He's doing pretty well with endorsements, like the gym membership ads he's been starring in over the last year. Anyway, I'm happy Wild Bill and VGK came to terms they could agree on.

  12. Karlsson is everywhere in this town you can expect to see his face on a billboard no matter what side of town you're on so I wonder how much he's making for all that

  13. Due to vegas taxes, Karlsson is getting the same amount of money on a $5.9M deal in Vegas, as he would an $8M deal in Toronto.

  14. Even in a slump, Karlsson would still be amazing 3rd or 4th line player (and TONS of top line players can't do that). That +49 rating in 2018 didnt come without some serious 2way hockey sense.

  15. This is a great deal for Vegas and good for Karlsson for sticking with what he wants. He loves Vegas and wants to play there. I will never fault him for that.

  16. Mark Stone is easily ttheir best player but Karlsson is definitely number 2.
All aside this is an amazing team friendly deal

  17. Hey Shannon…. that's 5.9 million with NO state income tax! Washington D C 8.95%, NJ 8.97%, Minnesota 9.85% and CALIFORNIA 13.3%!
