Seems like hes just trying to cover up his ignorant "scratched" tweet, when hes just gonna get called up.
Wings placed Compher, Kostin and Larkin on IR today. So these are call ups to replaces those guys. Berggren being traded probably results from there being no real place for his style of play, especially with the Kane deal.
Put something other than a video game up, please
I'm thinking Yzerman is after a goalie
Berggren was sat in GR Sunday because he was being called up. Not for trade shopping.
You are turning into a tweet retweet machine.
Sucks for Bergie for the Wings to be so deep that he won't get a shot, except as emergency callup. We have to become tougher and faster at the blue line, especially when Kane is on. I'm thinking Hanaflin or Tanev, but we'd need to dump some cap for either of them. I THOUGHT we needed to replace Chiarot and Petry, but Ben's leading the team at +10? Maybe Reimer and Bergie for Hanifin and his $5M cap hit?
You are taking a rumor, and treating it like it is a fact. In the day, a young Steve Yzerman was rumored to be traded to Ottawa. We know how much that turned out to be true. I suspect a lot of current Red Wings players will get talked about in trade discussions, this season. And that is all it will be, talk.
Honestly, if teams are interested in Berggren, and we can turn him and maybe a draft pick into an upgrade for the team, I'm all for it.
Look, I know there's a lot of fans who are all "please don't let this be true" or whatever, but we're at a stage of the rebuild now where we can't just hold on to draft picks and prospects forever. It's an ebb and flow, So if we're in on Elias Lindholm and the Flames want a package that includes Berggren? Let's see where this goes.
The Leafs can't be the center of every trade or signing rumor.
He’s trying to potentially trade him for Noah hanifin I heard ,which is actually the right thing to do
Imho the next step for the Wings is consolidation of talent. The first step was collect an entire team of legit NHL players that are better than replacement level. That appears to be done. The team is clearly deep; so deep that they have no room to pull younger guys up from GR.
The next step in moving the team forward logically would be to increase the talent level at the top end. They have more than enough depth to try and turn 2-3 good players into 1 elite player and still field a team of all good players.
Might not necessarily be Berggren, but I expect a 2-3 asset trade for a bigger name to be the next big step. Whatever that ends up being in particular.
A two way player at least 25 years old and 1st and 2nd draft pick
After hearing Compher and Kostin are joining Larkin on the IR this one might be a stretch unless this is part of a bigger package deal.
II thought Berggren should have made the team and have said so. The only reason he didn't IMHO is that he didn't have clear waivers, because we signed so many free agents in the off-season, I have said the same about Edvinsson. If the Wings don't have any plans for him, then might as well see what we can gt for him.
As I recall, there was talk about Bertuzzi and Hronek and a few others that there was buzz about. It bugged me because Bertuzzi had a lot of qualities I liked and Hronek kept surprising me like he had picked up a few of Lidstrom's sticks for those power play shots from the blue line.
