  1. as a Detroit fan, i would have loved to see us get something else out of this since nyquist is at almost a point per game and is doing very well (having a career year). i would’ve loved a 1st, but buffalo has it. even if we got a good prospect out of this deal I would’ve been happy. I just think it was a little to low and didn’t meet up to his value

  2. Im not a fan of either team but I think its ridiculous that Detroit doesnt even get a good prospect and a 2nd for Nyqvist…I would have at least expected a guy like Roy, Ferraro or Chmelevski to go the other way

  3. Basically they traded their second best player for a early 3rd rounder, and a early 4th rounder. I dont think Ken Holland knows how to rebuild.

  4. Lol He is not going to crack the Sharks first line. He will probably be on the third line with Thornton and Sorenson.

  5. The Red Wings did get something for at least two UFA's. I don't see Howard leaving the team, not because I want him to stay until retirement age, but because Ken Holland is just a fool in love.

  6. My guess is there wasn't as much interest in Nyquist as expected. It's better to get something than nothing. Also, Nyquist played well in the 5-3 loss to the Sharks Sunday. He scored a goal and had 8 shots.

  7. While he's a first line player for the deadwings, he's a third line player for the Sharks…lol @ first line….Granted, when you have Joe Thornton as your third line center, life has a different view point. I like the trade.

  8. I'd bet they try him on the first or second line to start the first game, and Deboer moves him around after a few good practices to find his new mates. He'll probably see some good PP time, too. Possibly 1st line PP
