  1. It’s good to see McDavid out there making meaningful checks without the puck. It’s not what he’s on the ice for but it’s what’s needed from everyone and I bet the boys see him doing it. It’s a sign of leadership. I’ve ragged on him and drai for sometimes being lazy on defence but Conor’s got a hunger for redemption out there and you can see it. Oilers don’t make the playoffs without Conor imposing his will on teams

  2. Flag on the play for Jeff, 1969 wasnt 100 years ago. You can watch Billy Burch, Shorty Green and Red Green lead the Hamilton Tigers to their first ever road victory.

  3. For me it's like being a bulls fan in the mid/late 80s with mcdavid being Jordan.

I never take a single game for granted.

  4. I’ll question his “The greatest players don’t make the greatest coaches” idea. Not that they make good coaches, but I’ll question his explanation: it could be that if you take most NHL players, they won’t make good coaches. On average, only a few will be good at coaching. Then there’s a selection bias for allowing legends to become coaches having gone through fewer paces than most because of who they are. So more great players end up as coaches because their player reputation stands in for coaching record. Then they just prove the point that most people aren’t good coaches – not that having been a good player hampered them per say.

  5. The roster still needs change and winning streaks can make one think otherwise. But this team always has slumps too. And last years playoffs were a weird kind of partial slump. Can’t have that.
