  1. Both were in the wrong. Barron put himself in a vulnerable spot but if you’re going for a hit you need to recognize that someone’s in a vulnerable spot and let up. I’d say 2 mins but I guess the leagues trying to eliminate hitting from the game so it’s 5. It was nice to see everyone sticking up for Barron though.

  2. Bro don’t put yourself in that position. Guys will finish their checks. Whether Robinson meant to do it or not isn’t the question, he’s just doing his job, Barron needs to prioritize his safety and well-being at that moment.

  3. You gotta protect yourself a little better than that c'mon…gettin kinda sick of people parking themselves facing the boards fishing for calls

  4. Think the reason Barron didn't protect himself better than he did was because he didn't expect a player to come at him from the blue line for a check… therefore thought he had more time than he did. Who can blame him? You see a guy that far, you don't expect him to put himself out of position for a hit, you expect him to try and cover the pass you're about to make. He looked back the first time and figured he had time and space. He half-assed a second look behind him but it was too late. So in one hand you have a guy who fucked up… it happens. It's hockey. Doesn't give you the right to smash his face into the glass because he made a mistake by having his back towards you. From A all the way to Z, Robinson sees Barron's numbers and goes for a check anyway. It's the hitter's responsibility to realize that his opponent is in a vulnerable position. If you cross a red light, it doesn't give me the right to run you over.

  5. So that's considered a major penalty now huh. I can just get the puck and turn my back to a defender who is bearing down on me and HE will get the penalty for hitting me. Lol. Fuck the NHL.

  6. Honestly, major penalties in the NHL have become like roughing the passer calls in the NFL. No one can predict them, no one understands the standard to avoid them, and at this point guys are just going to have to be willing to take major penalties to hit guys. Just do your job right and shrug when the refs fuck you over. There isn't much else we can do at this point. Its going to completely ruin the league.

  7. I like Robinson, good pickup for the Sabres, has speed and energy with a physical presence much needed on this team
Barron deserves to bleed, WTF is he thinking?

  8. Not the same penalty but you want to see a match penalty? Check what Perron did to Zub that was a 5 and a misconduct. Robinson had no intent to injure and had an intent to play the puck. Barron just played the puck too. 2 min for boarding on the play.

  9. Robinson had time to not make that hit. Numbers all the way in. Frankly it doesn't matter if Barron "didn't protect himself", Robinson was in complete control, and should have the good sense not to do something against the rule book.
