They are FUMING about this

Nhl highlights today – Winnipeg jets vs anaheim ducks was a sneakily great game last night, but the ryan strome kyle connor stuff definitely took the headlines which is unfortunate, because the game itself was fun. Mark scheifele ryan strome happened as a result of the play and the jets vs ducks highlights ended with a winnipeg comeback, but this is definitely going to be top of the list for watercooler talk about this game. We’ll probably see some supplementary for strome, but I wonder how much. 1. UPDATE: Strome will not be receiving any punishment from DOPS. No update on Connor as I’m writing this. What an absolute stinker from the Department, they absolutely missed this one

  2. Thats really not a horrible play, its a penalty yes but nothing more. His knee was only out because he was leaning his entire body into the hit and Conner tried to avoid it, it wasnt one of the ones were the guy just sticks the knee out of no where.

  3. Gonna kinda play devils advocate here, but i dont think Ryan Strome couldve done that much there. He doesnt really extend the leg to go for the knee on knee hit, he was already skating at Kyle Connor with a decently wide stance. You can even see him trying to lay a shoulder out to deliver a check, but Connor had already moved out of the way outside of his dangling right leg which ended up taking all the contact. Its an unfortunate play and i dont think the intention was to go knee on knee. Absolutely deserved the five and a game, but im not sure a suspension does anything to help avoid these types of plays in the future. This is somewhat similar to the Aho play on adam fox from earlier in the season and there was no suspension there. Its not a clear and obvious intent to injure play and it absolutely sucks that Connor is potentially hurt for a decent amount of time.

  4. Stromes leg never moved he had his foot planted going for a hit, Connor moved to avoid it and got his leg clipped that’s not on strome and I’m not a fan of either team

  5. If this was Matthew's or Marner TSN and Sports Net, would bringing in every analyst from the entire continent to analyze the play.

  6. Dirty hits like this could be eliminated from the game with hefty fines, $50k and an additional $25k every time a player repeats a dirty hit. $3k fines and a game or 2 mean nothing to these goons!

  7. I highly disagree.
You said Strome stuck his knee out, just watch the view from behind Connor.
Connor has his leg back in like a 45° angle.
For me this is just a missed hit on an awkward positioned shooter, best seen at 2:01.
I asume there was no intent.
Yes it will be a suspension because NHL, but if you want hockey with hits, this can happen.
    Wish Connor a fast recovery.

  8. Suspend these guys until the injured player returns, or make then stay on the ice every shift until the end of the game.

  9. If it was an accident, it was super dumb. And if it was on purpose . . . that guy should sit for as long as Kyle Connor is out, imo. I'm a fan of neither team btw.

  10. How can they not suspend him? Knee to knee, there's no argument. I'd be happy with 3 games. It looked like a calculated move. Idk about anyone else, but my eyes saw him trying to make it look like an accident.

  11. Once again Player Safety proves it's a freaking joke. Strome got NOTHING for that hit. They gave nothing to Trouba after a two handed swing to Frederic's head. And they let this go with 5 min penalty.

  12. If your season rests on one player, you aren't a strong enough team to make it in playoffs. Besides, everyone knows the tickets will still be sold.
