  1. He's not gone. They are shopping him around because of OEL and Markstrom. If Markstrom walks or the OEL trade falls through, we can still keep Toffoli.

  2. Not a Nucks fan, so don’t shoot me for asking. What’s the story with Edler? Is he a keeper? Or would moving him to create cap space for Toffoli be an option?

  3. Years of cap (free agent) mismanagement led to this. We finally get competitive and are cap crunched! Yikes.
And what GM trades for a rental player just to make the playoffs?

  4. MacEwen got resigned. Good. Now get Gaudette and Leivo to do the same. Tyler Foli was a pure rental and now they have more cap to resign some rfas and more cap for next offseason when the core guys are off their elcs.

  5. Madden should have stayed with Vancouver. Can't afford Toffoli, how can they afford Arizona player, indeed how can they afford to keep Jacob. Toffoli would look good for Montreal.

  6. What the actual f*ck are we doing? If Markstrom is asking for 6mil and an NTC then forget it and just sign Toffoli. Who the f*ck is supposed to fill in the giant gap on the Top 6?

  7. Kings fan here, That genuinely sucks I was rooting for you guys he looked like he was back to full form But, Hey he's welcome back in LA we definitely left the light on for him lol.

  8. Well I will be curious to see what Toffoli is asking for, he is a good player but in a flat cap world and if he intends to play on a good team he isnt good enough to take more then 5 mill a year. Maybe the Canucks are lowballing him at like 4 mill but I feel like he is wanting closer to 5.5 or 6.

  9. That’s it prepare for another 5 year rebuild in Vancouver. We tasted the playoffs and that’s it. It’s all we are aloud. 1 good year. It’s sad to see him go but I’m sure the Canucks will still be great next season.

  10. I know how it feels when your team gets a rental for a good prospect, The Hurricanes traded Kuokkanen for a couple of games from Vatanen

  11. canucks still have 7.3 mil of wasted cap space in 3 players no longer here ,, LUONGO , Baertschi and Spooner??whos in the KHL ,, who never even played a game FOR CANUCKS

  12. I guess you could say for this season only that from a Canucks standpoint, Tim Schaller was more valuable than Toffoli. Would have meant we keep Madden.

  13. It ain’t over… this could be posturing by his agent… he can still sign with Van before or after Friday. OEL and Marky need to get sorted as well. If not for this OEL talk he would have signed already.

    Patience boys…

  14. Canucks should trade Edler and Erikson in package deal. Both guys are way overpaid. Edler + Erikson + Virtanen for OEL? thats not too bad…

  15. Sure was a high price to pay for 17 games played if hes gone . Another bad Benning move lets just hope he doesnt go after Barrie or get O.E.L. two players on the downside of careers .

  16. This is the consequences of signing Lui Erickson and Brandon Sutter to bad long term contracts.Benning hasn't been able to dump those guys to clear cap space
