Kyle Dubas Talks Draft And How Maple Leafs Will Approach Free Agency | Tim and Sid
Toronto Maple Leafs GM Kyle Dubas joined Tim and Sid to talk about the NHL draft and how he plans on addressing team toughness potentially through trades and free agency.
The Leafs need players who will hate their opposition, and see them as a barrier against their #1 life goal; to win hockey games. When they get out onto the ice, they aren't accepting anything but victory. They don't have to fight, but they must be willing to do so if that's what it takes to drag players like Matthew's, Marner, Nylander into the battle. When the young core sees these players put it all on the line out there, it has to happen in a way where Marner, Nylander, etc.'s egos and self-dignity are put in question, whether they are heroic winners, or whether they are truly pompous cowards who will leave their teammates outnumbered and slaughtered. And at that point, if they can't/won't answer the bell, then us Leaf fans truly are lost.

Tavares also isn’t worth 10. The islanders fans must be laughing like hell at the leafs. Matthews, Marner, and Nylander once again have yet to win a playoff series.
Kyle is very open and seems a cool guy and s solid GM who has a fan friendly idea of how a team should be constructed with flair n skill but its not conducive 2 winning hockey in playoffs….he needs 2 remove that blind spot on adding grit n toughness….also needs to not overpay….I don't think lou would of paid nylander what he got but would of dealt him

When he should really be worrying about Ottawa. Overpaying 4 forwards and starving the defense is not a winning business plan. Leafs don't have enough cap space to re-sign the Zamboni driver.

Dubas and Shanahan will destroy the leafs for sure..NHL should come up with a trophy to the GM for demolishing a team to the ground.
