The Toronto Maple Leafs took care of business in the Big Apple beating the New York Rangers 7-3. Mike DiStefano and David Morassutti give their thoughts on the Leafs effort coming on the second half of a back-to-back and Auston Matthews adding to this NHL goal-scoring lead. Mike wonders if Matthews could push to score 50 goals in 50 games considering how he has been scoring right now. In their three stars of the game, Mike and Dave look at the play of Martin Jones in his first start of the season, Mitch Marner continuing to be the engine of the team and Matthews while also giving a couple of shoutouts to some defencemen. Kamps 3 game goal streak
Kuch's stats padded to hell with them being up 4 games. Was hilarious seeing Mika act like he could actually do anything. Mccabe would fk that pretty boy face up.
Matthews 50 in 50. I would love that. It is hard to do though.
I think if they had to dip into unproven goaltenders they would try Petruzelli. Hildeby is a goalie of the future and he doesn't have enough experience on NA ice yet to throw him into the NHL. There is no sense throwing him in too early hoping to win a couple of meaningless games now.
Marner has been the same player pretty much regardless of who he plays with. He put up points at a 90+ pace playing with Kadri, Tavares and Matthews. Matthews is the guy who has fallen off without Marner. Just look to last year. Keefe put them back together to, in the words of the masses, "get Matthews going."
Matthews may be the best player but Marner is the most important. Leafs without Matthews, easily a playoff team. Leafs without Marner are a lottery team.
Three stars on the money. Honorable mention Gregor. I really liked him moving up and down the lineup. I would like to see him on a longer contract.
Marner's dad is controversial because too many people are raising their kids to be mediocre instead of to be winners.

AM34 is awake and turning up the heat again,Jones was good but a great full team effort getting 3 out 4 points. I know we need to upgrade are D core but am kinda don't want it as things are working out at the moment. GO LEAFS GO
Anybody who says Jones is better than Samsonov hasn't watched Martin Jones over his career. Was he a good pickup? You bet! But if you watched any Kraken hockey the last couple of years or his games in SJ, you'll realize that consistency is a problem with this guy. He can be great … he can also be porous. Believe it or not, Sammy, while erratic, is more consistent. Jones is just not a #1.

Yeah the Chara hardest slap shot does not count as the best ever , Chara was using the trick stick that everyone uses today , It would be the same thing as if they let base ball players use a corked bat and tried to claim someone using that had the farthest hit ever . Cape Breton Islands Al MacInnis and Al Iafrate have the hardest slap shots ever , Wooden sticks 100 + mph no bend and snap trick stick .
I called it during the game when I watched it, but Brian Matthews and Tie Domi were definitely mimicking the Rangers' goal song, haha. Ruthless!
