  1. VT has their Northern Virginia campus being built currently there. The space that is beyond the rail line is basically the Potomac River. It's not just a big grass field lol. Also, the commute to this area is basically the same as it was to the original location, terrible parking situation and just the Metro to get to games really.

  2. As NBA fan, pls basketball gods pls move the Wizards somewhere else smh, it sad situation with that bball team in Washington.

  3. hi DG, for reference, that is the DC metro station next to the stadium. also, Virginia Tech has a satellite campus right outside of DC, in this area.

  4. If the Wizards move, they need a full rebranding. “Wizards” is a terrible name. New uni’s, colors and name.

  5. I live in the DMV and I have to think it's a power play to get funding for renovations. Monumental just built an e-sports venue right next to the Capital One Arena within the past year, now they're talking about packing up and leaving? Alexandria residents don't even want this new development, the area is already overdeveloped.

  6. Perhaps they can revert back to being the Bullets again, since they'll be out of DC proper. Wizards was always an odd name choice, and after 25 years the WW brand is anything but iconic.

  7. I did say if I had a chance to bulldoze 5 arenas that would be one with. Ball Arena in Denver, Smoothie King Arena in New Orleans, Target Center in Minnesota, and United Center in Chicago. But now if I get to choose another it would be Talking Stick Arena in Phoenix.

  8. Capital One Arena is one of the better stadiums I’ve seen. I went a bunch the last two years. It blends in so well and has a 3 train lines right under it. They just need to clean up the whole area around it.

The new district in VA could work if they limit car traffic and upgrade the entire area. A lot of people go to capital one arena by train. The owner kinda sucks by the way.

  9. Capital One is from VA so I’m sure the name would be moving too. The current arena would slowly die out. That neighborhood has gone down hill due to crime. Alexandria is a much better option.

  10. The teams will still keep their Washington name. They are literally moving across the lake lol. That area is basically still considered the DC metro area.

  11. Capital one arena opened in 1997 and it's in a perfect location in Downtown DC and accessible by the Washington metro. So why a new arena?
