I've heard the berggren rumors but I cant possibly understand Montreal being the trade partner. They have nothing that interests me as far as reasonable targets.
The only thing that makes sense is the player has asked for a trade because he belongs in the NHL everyday, and he's blocked in Detroit now.
Or yzerman knowing this and doing berggren a favor.
If Johnny burgers does get traded, I'd prefer him be part of a package for a bigger fish ( hanafin ) over a smaller trade ( I'm assuming ) with mtl.
Armstrong made the mess so he might be next out..

Leafs need a stronger D like Engstrom, Barron, etc already expressed interest in Monahan and a pick for $10M+ for Marner and $4m for Barron and Monahan so $6M added to the cap.Habs gets top line of Suzuki, Marner, Caulfield. Leaf fans hate Habs that it would never happen. Lotsa' money to sign Nylander. Win win for leafs + habs improve their first line $6m could sign a free agent etc.
Jonatan Berggren shouldn't be traded. Detroit has a plethora of young defense studs in their system. Simon Edvidsson will be on the Wings next season. Axel Sandin Pellikka will be in G.R. next season as well. Noah Hanifin would cost Detroit around 8 million per season. Mo Seider and Lucas Raymond need new contacts, that won't be cheap. Adding an additional 8 million defenseman is dumb. Detroit has Walman, Seider, Edvidsson, Pellikka as their future top 4. Wallinder and Gibson as their future bottom pair. Plus the other vets they have now.
The habs are in no rush at this moment it's too early for the habs to make any moves

I grew up in Maryland and the change is definitely more than 10-15 minutes. The metro ride from where I lived to the arena would go from 20 minutes to 45-50, not counting getting to and from the stations. And the geography of the area means that anyone driving from DC or MD has to use one of the bridges over the Potomac river, which turn into chokepoints in the godawful DC traffic. I'm expecting this to cost them fans in Maryland in the long run.
Who said those rumors about NJ wanting Gibson? Does Gibson want to waive his NTC to NJ? DOes NJ wanna overpay for him cuz he will have to come at 50% and you fail to mention Gibby hasnt been good lately. Stop running with every rumor you hear my dude, cuz im wait for you to make a video on NJ wanting every single goalie with no reliable sources.
Why should Blues players be concerned? There's 10 players with no trade, no movement or modified clauses. I'm an Armstrong fan but his players are underperforming. The first moved had to be a coaching change.
