The leafs need a DEFENSIVE DEFENCEMAN and they need a RIGHT SHOT. Hanifin is neither of those. The leafs don't need more offence from the blueline when they have literally one of the best Offensive dmen in the league Playing Elite right now in Morgan rielly. The job of A defenceman first and foremost is to play defence, enough of this Offence offence offence approach Dubas took with literally every decision he made look where its gotten us…..Tanev is exactly the type of Dman the leafs need, will be Considerably cheaper than Hanifin and overall would benefit the team more. I think Hanifin is good, I wouldn't be upset if he became a leaf but they'll have to really Overpay to land a Younger guy like that and the cupboards are pretty bare in expendable assets thanks to Four eyes. Tanev is a Far better dman than Hanifin, hes cheaper and Ticks more boxes than Hanifin on this leafs team.

Wouldnât mind seeing Tanev and hanifin in a package deal if that could even be pulled off , then 3/4 of our D can reminisce about their Calgary days
Hanifan is going to Boston as a free agent despite whatever team trades for him. He ain't going to the Laffs. because he's from the Boston area
