Devils Capitalize On Myers’ Turnover As Haula Is Left Alone, Fires One Past Canucks’ Demko

Watch as Vancouver Canucks defenceman Tyler Myers gives up the puck in his own end and it falls right onto New Jersey Devils forward Jack Hughes’ stick, who then fires a pass to an unguarded Eric Haula to finish the easy goal and take the lead.

  1. Canucks defense has been a complete shambles, led by Myers. Demko having a shocker, not something often said about him. Thought for sure he would be pulled.

Really need to wake up. Those goals were easily preventable, but they just switched off.

  2. This is absolutely unacceptable. The Canucks lost tonight lost for two reasons. Tyler Myers, and the refs.

First off, what is Tocchet doing? He is an awful coach and its starting to show. He enjoys scratching Kuzmenko and other players because they don't do well for a few games. Yet when it comes to Tyler Myers, Tocchet gives him more minutes the more he turns over the puck. This game, and many other games Tyler Myers is literally the reason the Canucks lost. Without him surrendering this goal, the Canucks had all the momentum going. So either Tocchet is a terrible coach, or somebody within the organization *cough cough* owners are telling Tocchet not to bench Myers.

Second, these peewee NHL refs can't even call icing. On one of the goals, New Jersey's goalie touches the puck. So that should never have been icing. On the next play, New Jersey scores. On the 5th New Jersey goal, the Canuck player looks very clear that he won the race. If they didn't, it would have been way too close for the human eye to detect. Then, New Jersey scores again.

What makes absolutely zero sense is why they never add a line along the faceoff dots to help the linemen determine who crosses the faceoff dots first? It is literally impossible for the human eye to detect these split second scenarios without a line on the ice. Instead of the NHL worrying about culturally themed masks, why don't they look at real issues like this one? So many missed icing calls have lead to goals.

  3. Myers contract should be split 31 different ways he gets goals for every other team. They should have to pay him
