Prior to this cross-state rivalry, the Penguins announced the Sidney Crosby, Brian Dumoulin, Marcus Pettersson, Chad Ruhwedel, and Coach Mike Sullivan would be unavailable due to being in COVID protocol. If there is one thing that Mike Sullivan has reiterated to his squad time and time again over the years, it is the importance of resilience. The Penguins demonstrated that resilience against the Flyers. Just 16 seconds into the contest, Brock McGinn put the Penguins up, 1-0, with his third goal of the season. Konecny evened things up for the Flyers with a tally on the man-advantage in the 2nd period, but Jake Guentzel would put Pittsburgh ahead once again just 4:11 after that. Laughton earned the lone goal of the 3rd period, sending the contest into overtime. The stage was set for overtime hero, Kris Letang. After no goal was called on the ice, the officials reviewed the sequence of events, and determined that the skilled defenseman did indeed tuck the puck past the goal line. Jeff Carter played in his 1,100th NHL game, recording an assist. Carter is one of three active players with 1,100 games played and 400-plus goals, joining Alex Ovechkin and Joe Thornton. Tristan Jarry stopped 36 of 38 shots in the victory.

Welcome back Kris Letang! Much needed win and against the Flyers makes it even better!
When we lost letang we started losing and now he is back which means we will be winning again a good win tonight boys now get that win against the wild on Saturday
Even a blind chicken has to eat! 🤣
From injuries to COVID Outbreaks, I give The Penguins credit to being over .500 right now.
Let's Get on a Roll Boys!!!!
Frustrating to see that keep happening in the final minutes.
Jarry did really well; he had a particularly hard job tonight. Good team effort on the win, especially given the circumstances. Glad that it wasn't as "physical" as I expected. LGP
It's not rocket surgery. If the first camera angle of Letang's winner wasn't obvious enough for you, the last shot shows nothing but clean blue with no puck to be found…and it didn't vaporize…so therefore…IT'S IN THE NET, SPACE CADET!
Love the boys anyone wanna talk about jake with the slick puck bouncing and a clean pass
That place went bananas, my goodness that was awesome
That moment when the reff has the game on the line is so scary
This rivalry isn't as good as it used to be. Where's the fights and all of the pushing and trash talking after the whistle? Don't get me wrong, as someone who has lived near Philadelphia for years and then moved and lived near Pittsburgh for years, I absolutely love this rivalry. It's literally my favorite rivalry in all of pro sports. However, I miss the intensity, the physicality, and the bad blood each team had for one another years ago especially during the 2012 game before the playoffs and that series back in 2012.
No Crosby, no Malkin, no Dumo, no Sullivan, 2 points. Same old, same old Flyers. Lol.
Next Pens practice, shooting at an empty next. Cause if they could hit one, you might have had 8 goals in this game. Jeez.
#35 and #58 really saved the game there! 😎✌
I was lucky to be at this game. I'll tell you what, when they made the "good goal" call at the end the whole place erupted. Flyers tears never tasted so good!
Letang is such a game changer and I'm so glad he's still here.
is potash delivering Errey cocktails in the booth, sounds gone
