Boy I sure hope you saw the Ottawa Canes game tonight, the 3rd was insane with Kochetkov
1:35: least biased take ever 😂
I'm hesitant to believe many of these new "districts" will be developed much beyond the arenas. The areas you mentioned already had established entertainment and lodging prior to the arenas being built. Many of these new arena districts add the development of hotels and businesses into the proposal to get approval for funding from the taxpayers. The district Detroit around LCA is a great example, as the majority of the area around the arena has remained undeveloped since it opened in 2017 despite their initial proposals.
The subway to Alexandria is excellent.
Caps in Virginia increases the odds of Baltimore getting a team.
Boston has had the entertainment area around the Garden for years too, probably before Vegas – of course its in the heart of the city too .
Yeah Connor has one of the best rips in the show.
What a wild ride for the blues this year
It's crazy that the blues fired chief tonight after the loss
I hate the idea of the Caps moving to Alexandria!! I lived there for over 20 years. I'd like to know where they would be planning to move them. I like them better in DC.
I'm against the move, purely for sentimental reasons. It was my first ever NHL game there in 2013, been a Caps fan ever since, and the last one together with my father in 2019. Good memories are connected to this place ❤
People need to get over Kyle Connor. Every team has injuries, deal with it.
The Blues fired the Chief. Whatever. 🙄 Ridiculous.
Just pure pain as Jets fans
Regarding traffic, nope that ugly traffic circulates through Maryland, Virginia and the DC, so makes no difference. About time the Caps get a new arena. Capital One Arena is so overused they can't properly maintain the ice conditions. I think they change the ice twice per season. Capital One Arena has so many issues with humidity, as the way the arena is designed they have a hard time keeping the ambient temp(air temperature above the ice) cool enough. With all the events that go on in that arena, they have to cover the ice. The ice doesn't have sufficient time to freeze sometimes after being resurfaced by their Zamboni machines. Capital One Arena only uses 2 Compressors, which by today's standards is somewhat inefficient.
Washington Nordiques!
As a trucker I am VERY familiar with DC Metro traffic. The planned move to NoVa? HUGE mistake. This will end up biting Leonsis in the butt big time, especially if the Caps are a mediocre or bad team.
Trip to Alexandria takes about 20min
Yeah I can’t make it that far to watch the caps in VA with the traffic from the MD side maybe I’ll cancel my season tickets. There was plenty of stuff around capital one arena. Also government should fund the $750M public transit shortfall before funding a stadium. Closing the trains at 10pm and cutting half the bus routes aren’t a good look if the government is coughing up $500M+ for an arena upgrade.
The Caps kinda have to change their name if they move to Virginia right?
Vrana wasnt the problem. … sure! Hes no good. But hes a minnow compared to the other fish on the Blues.
Milwaukee has The Deer District downtown, too. Similar to how Vegas and Nashville has tons to do around the arena.
Would love to see a video about the Entertainment Districts already in play for the NHL.
we can't just build arenas, it has to be an entire miniature city and the owner owns the land and can rent it out. LOOK AT THIS AMAAAAAZING NEW DISTRICT with SHOPPING STORES LIKE EDDIE BAUER AND LULULEMON and LUXURY APARTMENTS, DID I HEAR CONDOS TOO? Lets not forget about the INCREDIBLE NIGHTLIFE EXPERIENCE WITH BARS AND RESTAURANTS FEATURING $8 IPAs AT HAPPY HOUR AND THAT ALL USE THE SAME FROZEN AND DEEP FRIED FOOD JUST WITH DIFFERENT SAUCES. AND BONUS – IF YOU GO THERE WHEN IT'S NOT A GAME NIGHT THERE'S LITERALLY ZERO PEOPLE IN THERE BESIDES ONE 55 YEAR OLD DIVORCED ALCOHOLIC TRYING TO HIT ON THE BARTENDER
Alexandria is accessible via the DC Metro. Very close
Stevie-Y needs to go after Kyle Conner this off season along with Merlikins from the Blue Jackets..
If the Caps moved to Alexandria based on what Google says for directions from their current arena it would be 30 mins away. But I've never been to that side of the USA nor do I plan on it unless I'm going to see the Pens play at home (one day).
rugged hit on KC by Strome
